There hasn't been a truly good FF since the 16-bit days and I'm not being sarcastic. FF VII is alright but overrated and everything after is either mediocre or complete garbage. So that said, on the one hand, it'd be good for Wii U to get a 'real' FF like the upcoming game in the Lightning series because somehow, despite SE's best efforts, FF is still very popular. On the other hand I'd rather SE give the console an actual good game. A port of Sleeping Dogs, easily one of the best open world games, would be great.

Maybe Kane and Lynch, or Dues Ex. I heard good things about Dues Ex, and have been tempet a few times to buy it on PSN. I hope they make an original game, or a spinoff that's cool. I would rather have a spinoff than a new Final Fantasy, unless they make an actually cool one... 13 was horrible IMO. Chrono Cross sequel, etc...

I loved True Crime Streets of LA so I'm immediately all for a Sleeping Dogs port. I need to play that game one way or another.

Versus should be on every platform under the sun to make it profitable. If the game is PlayStation only when it launched it will be a massive failure.

I actually enjoyed all ff games especially the final fantasy 13 series, beat 13, and 13-2. maybe 13-3 lightning returns will be ported to wii u or a trilogy. ff 15 will be good too. Versus 13 was converted to ff15. Maybe an exclusive ff, or a spin off to crystal bearers could be cool.

I certainly hope not. The last thing that game needs is to be in development even longer just to accamodate a new system.

I just got to playing Final Fantasy VIII a few days ago on my PSP, since I never tried it out.

Yep, it's pretty awesome. This is coming from a guy who is 17 and never owned a Playstation. So no, Final Fantasy games after 6 are not rubbish.

You haven't gotten to the mind-****ery latter on. The story really goes downhill quick. That said, the gameplay, while a bit tedious and convoluted, is still pretty fun, and I don't recall a time where I wasn't enjoying it. It's just that I enjoyed it for reasons I really was not expecting. It's certainly not complete garbage. In fact, I envy people who say it is garbage, as it most likely means they have yet to experience real garbage, like Star Ocean 3 or Unlimited SaGa.

Star Ocean 3 is my favourite PS2 RPG after the three Final Fantasies.

You have yet to give me a reason that that game sucks beyond "IMO". For that matter your opinion of FFVIII's story is just that, and opinion. There is nothing actually wrong with the story - its actually pretty loaded with philosophy. The game struggles a little to get that across, but I put that down more to the challenge in translating Japanese culture and mindset to western material than anything in the game.

Same thing with FFXIII really. People seem to forget these games are made by Japanese people.

By all that is holy and true FF8 is an awful game, if I was to pay you to come up with a cast of characters as bad as in FF8 you could not do it, cannot be done they led to characters like Tidus I'm sure of it.

Last I checked, Squall and Rinoa were both in the 50 most popular character list in Japan. Welcome to the minority.
