The gamepad is cool, but next-gen gaming doesn't mean we need a crazy new controller. I just want new games.
I like the Pro Controller. Analog triggers and motion sensing would help (sixaxis, gyro sensor, whatever), but it's fine the way it is now.

But if this existed... oh baby.....

That controller neeeeeeds to become an official variation of the Pro Controller. I WANT IT

Im really going to miss the screen if it's not in the next Nintendo console. Streaming games the Gamepad is such an underrated feature in my opinion.

The Pro Controller is pretty much perfect.

My KEY thing I could improve the Gamepad/Pro controller would be this: Colour you BLOODY AB+XY Buttons!!!!!!
It's frustrating when playing a game and it says press ..wait is that Y or X..ok Y....right So where is Y? Crap I pressed X.

The truth is if I say where is Triangle on a PS controller there is NO doubt where it is. And when shown on screen it helps to have that colour distinction. Just a little annoying really. Go original snes colour palette and some continuity between hardware.

I'd rather get buttons with different forms and sizes with distinct positioning to be able to play with the hands inside a box if needed(or in the dark for a more pratical example) kinda like this:

it could be transparent that it would still be easy to differentiate the buttons!

This is exactly why the gamecube was such an amazing controller. You always knew exactly what button your finger was on even if you weren't looking. So awesome.

I've had time to think about it, and now I'm certain.
Wiimote + Nunchuk owns all other control schemes. It works best for me vs the ps2 controller and gamecube controller (only controllers I really used)

But a stronger Nunchuk and charging station is highly advised. Also ability to use wiimote as a standalone tv remote, IDK if Wii U does that. I don't like the idea of the Wii U controller period.

Im talking big picture here, if anyone has ideas to genuinely improve wiimotes and nunchucks besides kinect...

Bolt_Strike

Basically a Fusion style handheld controller that's designed as a cross between the Gamepad and 3DS. It would dual analog sticks, one Control Pad, A, B, X, Y, L, R, ZL, ZR, +, and - buttons, one touch screen, and one slide-out top screen (for use in handheld mode). Would also have the same grip that the Gamepad has.

I really want an updated remote. Nintendo systems have traditionally refined the previous controller (NES to SNES, N64 to GC) and the Wii U is the one major exception.

The could have added better sensors, like a magnetometer to cancel drift (like the one in the gamepad), more buttons/better button placement, and a wireless nunchuk with a clickable stick. I'd have honestly been more happy with that than the gamepad we have now, which seems to have guaranteed that IR aiming support will die this gen.

I would really really like to see Nintendo minimize things to ONE controller. Obviously they are not going to just toss out motion controls and I rather enjoy them on certain games so maybe some kind of Wii remote / traditional controller hybrid. Maybe like THIS:

I'd hate such a thing(without a grip add-on) the Wii remote sideways always hurt my hand(the left one) a little

I think the wii remote is almost perfect as is, they just need to add an extra trigger (R + ZR) , a TV button (!!! this should really get implemented). Maybe put the b button on top but I'm not sure it's needed even.

Honestly, if Nintendo really needed to, they could probably get away with just making another add on for the Wii remote, and improving the nunchuck. That's the only thing I though they ever really needed to improve, but it's not that nig of a deal.

The GamePad hasn't really been utilized all the creatively, yet, but there's too much potential to ignore, IMO.

The DS4 just looks like a DS controller with a laptop touch pad. I don't really see how the light thing could be used either, but you never know. They could easily map a command to a shake gesture, but Sony never got into that, like Nintendo.

Bring back the U-Force and the Konami LaserScope.

Isn't Kinect sort of a updated U-force in a way?

Posts may be more salty than Nintended!

Honestly, if I had a choice, I'd honestly suggest Nintendo working with the Oculus Rift guys for their next console, so the controller is almost secondary to that idea. I'd probably go back to a GCN thing but with some optional gyro or touch controls for fun.
