Besides Guitar Hero, Pokken Tournament might release this fall, but I don't see much other than that, Xenoblade, and Yoshi happening this year.

I know I may be in the minority as everybody seems to want Metroid, but I would really love if Retro's project is a 3D Donkey Kong game. I'd go bananas for such a thing.

Hear, hear. I'm not at all into first-person shooters, so a Prime-style Metroid reveal would be quite disappointing for me. This, however, would be just the best thing ever.

I do think they're working on Metroid, though, which makes sense. I guess the one thing that would make me happy about a new FPS Metroid announcement would be the relatively lack of whining I'd have to endure in the comment sections of the sites I visit.

It's probably time for another Mario sports game: Mario and Sonic 2016 or Mario Strikers. I really hope Next Level Games is not working on Strikers though.

Mario Strikers for Wii U needs to happen, man.

I'd buy a Mario Sports Mix for Wii U, but with more games than the Wii version. Soccer, Tennis, Hockey, Tennis, Basketball, and Football would be a good start. May as well bring back Dodgeball and Volleyball too.

Well back on the other E3 thread, I did some research on Nintendo's internal studios to figure out what they could be working on, and this is what I came up with:

Animal Crossing for Wii U
Paper Mario for Wii U and/or Warioware for 3DS
Some kind of Mario Sports for Wii U
Possibly Luigi's Mansion and Metroid

However, there's a bit of leeway in these predictions (really these are just safe predictions based on development history), it's difficult to conclude what Retro and Next Level are working on.

It should also be noted that EAD Tokyo Group 2, the dev team that worked on 3D World, is currently working on another Mario game, but I don't think we'll see that game announced until next year. Between them, Playtonic, and the possibility of Zelda and Metroid it really feels like 2016 is shaping up to be the Year of the Exploration Game.

Games we'll see for sure : Starfox, Devils Third, Xenoblade, Mario Maker, Yoshi, Smash DLC, Fatal Frame, Metroid
Surprise games: Bayonetta 3 teaser, Fzero,
They'll also show off the new club nintendo replacement and hopefully a completely revamped OS for the WiiU with a complete overahaul of the online network.

Oh yeah... The new Club Nintendo replacement oughta be really interesting to find out about. I totally forgot that was coming. A new OS for Wii U could be very cool. The current OS is very simple and nice, though. But... I would like to see a OS where we could have a epic wallpaper on the Gamepad screen or something. I would like it if the Gamepad changed backgrounds to images of Zelda U, Starfox U, and other stuff.

Ohhhh cool!!! Luigi Mansion for Wii U? Hmmm.... well.... That game would have to improve on so much from the 3DS game. The 3DS game wasn't bad at all. It was cute and fun but it just wasn't enough.

The whole OS needs to be changed. Doing pretty much anything takes forever. Like opening notifications or sending a friend a message. Half the ram in the system is dedicated to the OS which is insane. I agree setting wallpapers or even themes like on the 3ds should be available.
The club nintendo replacement is hopefully something really good.

Only if that's Next Level's game, which I'm not so sure of. Next Level could be working on something completely new.

Hopefully they announce that the Wii U is not their future like Sega did with the Saturn. As the Wii U is absolutely dire wish I had never got it Nintendo is to behind the times people don't just want their games consoles to just play games they also want to use it as their media hub to watch movies blu rays etc. The fact that the console itself is on par technologically with the 360 and ps3 when it came out more than a genaration later (7 years) is quite frankly embaressing. Its sad when my ps3 and 360 are still my main consoles and the wii u more of a side console. Would love Nintendo to get back to their glory days with their new console and get 3rd party developers back on board but cant see it to be honest lets hope they dont go the same way as Sega.

I know you don't mean any harm and want the next Nintendo console to be awesome and have 3rd party support like the rest of us... BUT... in this thread, we're really just trying to guess what cool stuff could/will still be coming to Wii U. Despite huge flaws, the console is still awesome and have really good software games.

@wizzgamer Maybe your memory isn't too good, but that didn't end so well for SEGA. It wasn't the reason they fell out, but it was just one more bad decision along the way. Don't know if you remember, but the Sreamcast only sold well until another system took to the stage and after that the console was discontinued within a year.

A nifty calendar (Updated 9/13/15)
The UGXloggery ... really needs an update.

wizzgamer

@UGXwolf U do remember that but the Wii U has been out for nearly 3 year the Sega Master Systems successor was released just 3 years after that as it didn't sell as well as Sega hoped except for Europe. We all know the Wii U can no longer be Nintendos future so I don't see why they need to drag it out the should then begin to faze it out next year. My main prediction though is that they will release a redesigned Wii U with more flash memory possibly 64GB to tide us over till their next and probably last console if they don't get 3rd party companies on board is released.

I'm guessing Paper Mario U, but they should do a skit similar to the start of Dumb and Dumber To:

Aonuma: Gotcha! Zelda U is in fact coming out in November and we are going to demo it here.
Reggie (looking annoyed): You mean you misled us internally, lied to the board, lied to the customers and lied to the shareholders and in fact the game is nearly complete?
Aonuma: Yup!
Reggie: That's... AWESOME!

That would be a good way to boost hype to ridonkulous levels.

Also, to everyone saying Metroid, Miyamoto said the series was in planning stages a year ago. Unless they made a Metroid in a year, it's not happening.
