Also, what would this website be like if Nintendo stopped making consoles
"Nintendo has just developed there first original game for ios after dropping out of the console business, it's a Mario game where you keep running from goomba's this game looks really good for those causal players that just love angry birds!"
Of course that's just what I think.
I made Sheldon & Mr. Randoms back on Flipnote Hatena, now i'm a kangaroo mod that has a funko pop collection!
I'm not keen politics since that stuff is spooky, I'd rather watch SpongeBob over Fox News anyways!
They may not make a new handheld but idont think its there last console though
LOL WUT? Honestly I could see it the other way around (look at sales in Japan, 3DS outselling EVERYTHING officially, except PSP and DS, but it's close to PSP) handhelds > home consoles
Digitaloggery 3DS FC: Otaku1 WiiU: 013017970991 Nintendo of Japan niconico community is full of kawaii! Must finish my backlagg or at least get close this year W...

That's nothing but a Mario version of Rayman Jungle Run that the owners of NintendoGoMobile came up with as a "Game Idea", that site's shut down now.

Good, I knew that was gonna fail, that campaign just proved that even though those mobile devices have thousands of games on it's store, that they still want Nintendo, and this prove's that Nintendo makes the better games then what you get for a 99 pennys.

@gamesake umm I'm pretty sure the 3DS is the number one selling console of any platform in Japan right now
The Game Boy was and still is Nintendo's best selling brand and they retired that in favor of the DS. It might not happen but I think Nintendo is going to retire the DS brand after the 3DS has run its course. Their next handheld will most likely not be backward compatible.
Yeah, the 3DS being the last handheld is even more unlikely than the Wii U being the last console. What would the 3DS lose to, smart phones? Don't tell me the Vita, sales there are pitiful compared to the 3DS. And smart phones are not replacing the handheld market, as much as everyone tries to hide behind the argument. People are still buying handheld gaming systems. And Nintendo still is at the head of that industry.

Wii U, the last Nintendo console? I find that one hard to believe. Nintendo is still sitting on a LOT of money. Yes, it's early to say if the Wii U will take off, but even if it takes, Nintendo has more than enough money to try again. In fact, they could handle a few losses at this point, and Nintendo is way too stubborn to throw in the towel while they still have money. They take risks because they can afford to. If they began to get near the red, I'm sure they'd take less risks and we'd see less innovation and more of what is known to succeed in the industry (raw graphical power, more similar online capabilities to their competitors, etc). They bounced back from the Virtual Boy and they have more money now than they did back then, not to mention that, even if the Wii U bombs, it's already done way better than the Virtual Boy.
I have no doubt Nintendo is nowhere near dead. My bigger worry would be whether they'll start catering to core gamers again like they say, but only time will tell that.
it's funny you mention that they can take risks because they can afford to. Man no offense, but if this is sot rue then how come they don't deliver consoles and handhelds on the hardware scale of Microsoft or Sony? Every console to me since the GameCube has always felt like they've begun kinda cutting corners, like teir network and things like that. If only they'd retire this oldshcool mindset of theirs how that kinda stuff isn't what's important, if they were the true innovators a majority of people believe them to be, for once they could actually be sticking it to Microsoft and Sony for a change and possibly be taken a little more seriously by those audiences as serious competition, and reasons for them to invest in them if Nintendo truely wants to win them over. I'm not necesserily calling them weak or anything, just knowing their reputation and how they pretty much saved gaming back in the day, they've had more than enough time to consider this. And as time and tech moves on, if not it could just be the very thing that sets them behind yet again and eventually hurt their chances in the longrun.
Of course. 3DS is doing great, Wii and DS was their most successful systems to date and the WiiU is doing very well. I have no reason to believe they'd stop.

There'll be something new in the coming years. I think it's too early to say since we just got the Wii U and there isn't anything about it I'd change that needs to be made into an entirely new console.
The next system will still be very Wii U ish though since it'd have to be backwards compatible to the Wii U. So that tablet controller is here to stay.
We've probably hit the Microsoft/Sony "better graphics, faster processors" point, but this isn't the last Nintendo console... I'm certain.
I own a PS1, GBA, GBA SP, Wii (GCN), 360, 3DS, PC (Laptop), Wii U, and PS4.
I used to own a GBC, PS2, and DS Lite

I would like to point out that the Xbox 360 was sent out to the world with a huge design flaw. RROD. This is a bad thing because not only did they send it out with the system in such an unstable state, but they programmed in something to tell you when it happened! They didn't fix it, they programmed the Xbox to flash the rings red to let you know it had something wrong with it... wow.
Besides the Wii U, I haven't run into any such issue on a Nintendo console.
