That's what I've been told, but it's sad when I consider the Wii Shop better than the PSN only because the Wii Shop accepted my debit card

Shall I compare the PS4 to the Dreamcast?

You're insane if you are comparing the ps4 to the dreamcast. The dreamcast was eaten by sony. Also your article shows they're improving. Nintendo lost money the first year of the 3ds, but look how that turned out. Especially now since the ps4 is being bundled with the vita.

I haven't heard this yet. Did a google search and seems it's solvable by using a laptop.

Anyone who isn't a ninendrone will tell you ps4 is a superior console. I've never even owned a sony video game product, and even I have to admit nintendo is not as good as sony this gen. Sony's console is much stronger and only $100 more. They've already far outsold the pii u, and has a much more promising lineup.

I will say it's not over for nintendo though obviously, it's just over for the wii u.

It's over for the Wii U? Really? When the hype cools down and people finally realized that the PS4 and Xbone are just PS360 on steroids and offer nothing new onto the table, guess what they'll get? Oculus Rift.

Dude, that guy is obviously hurt that he has nothing to play on his PS4. That's why he mad bro.

Of course they're their past consoles on steroids, but that's what we are to expect from Xbox (and to a somewhat lesser extent sony). The Wii U was supposed to be something different, that's what nintendo does. So far most games aren't making it feel new in the ways the n64, snes, or wii did. When you look at nintendo consoles by their innovation, you can see that the ones that were the most innovative sold the best (wii/snes/nes) and the one that wasn't innovative (GCN) sold the worst.

The only games that can change the fate of the wii u are mk8 (which I will admit has wowed me recently), Smash, and Zelda. Problem is Zelda isn't coming out for a while since we haven't even seen a title yet, and Smash's sales are going to be hurt by 3ds unless sakurai has more in store for wii u exclusive features (which hopefully he does but even then it still will be affected by 3ds sales).

Ps4 has only been out for a little over half a year and actually has a comparable amount of good games to the wii u. Remember when myself among others were screaming something is wrong a year after the wii u's release?
I don't own either but I'm honestly thinking of ps4 just because I would feel guilty if I supported nintendo when they did something bad. I was so tempted to buy the wwhd zelda bundle last september, but my conscience wouldn't let me because to support a console with a number of good games I can count on one hand would be irresponsible for me as a longtime nintendo fan. I remember when Lego city undercover was considered a purchasing point for buying a wii u. Unfortunately, it still is.

I somehow doubt the 3DS version of Smash Bros will hurt the Wii U's sales significantly if at all. They have different maps and they have different ways to play.

Aside from that, there are a lot of people who want to use a home console for their Smash Bros.

Personally, I'll be getting both since I love the thought of Smash Bros on the go and I'll be able to play with my brother, and future friends, with it on the Wii U.

Just as an example, at launch, the best selling PS4 and One games were Assassin's Creed IV and Call of Duty Ghosts. These games only had a graphical upgrade from their PS3 and 360 counterparts, but a lot of people still bought those.

I own a PS1, GBA, GBA SP, Wii (GCN), 360, 3DS, PC (Laptop), Wii U, and PS4.
I used to own a GBC, PS2, and DS Lite

@2Sang What makes the snes innovative? Mode 7 wasn't that big an innovation, and whats left after that. Shoulder buttons? What sold all those systems (though the wii's advantage was innovation) was great games! Games sell systems, or at least they used to. Now people care too much about brand loyalty and specs, and that nasty mobile gaming market...

You not owning either makes your arguments a little harder to take seriously...

Also, not supporting titles with a number of good games you can count on one hand?? Okay... I hope you aren't considering buying the PS4 any time soon, then. I can only think of Infamous Second Son as a truly good title that isn't available on the PS3 or 360.

True, but nintendo doesn't have a steady supply of brogamers. Smash and possibly zelda are the only reason I would personally buy a wii u because I've been dehyped now that it's been a whlie since pikmin 3 and w101 have been out.
Again, I'm in the same boat with you in hoping sakurai brings something unique to the wii u version. However, if it's only different stages, trophies and updated graphics, I'm seriously doubting it. There has to be a different gameplay element for it to stand out. I'm personally hoping that connectivity feature he was talking about brings something new, but for now we can only speculate.

It's really your own loss if you allow such nonsense to ruin your own gaming experience.

By the way, the average attach rate for a console is around 4-5 games. Most people have 4-5 fingers. By your own words, the Wii U is already has an average software library less than 2 years into its lifespan.

Still not sure why you're considering buying a PS4 when you presumably already own a PC. Even the Vita offers a more unique gaming experience than the PS4, and for half the price.

@2Sang You can't prove a console is better than another. It's subjective. A person can correctly think Wii U is better than PS4. You also bring up sales as they make the best the best. What if a game and a 20 metacritic score, but it had better sales than a game with a 90 rating, does that make it better? No neither makes the other better. It's subjective. People could also buy something in droves, all could hate it.
And for the record, I personally think PS4 is far better than Wii U.

The SNES had the gameboy player, which for the first time allowed you to play all current nintendo games for 1 system. Also, the super fx chip was a groundbreaking. I would agree to an extent that games sell the consoles, but good games need good innovation. Case in point wii sports. If wii sports wasn't innovative, it would have been no better than tank tank tank. The failure of anyone being able to create a special experience with the gamepad is a major problem.

I'm not trolling but I am instigating due to the obvious struggles of the wii u, but my theme of the wii u being nintendo's biggest blunder since the virtual boy still stands. I'm honestly very disappointed in the lack of a great successor to the wii. The wii revived my faith in gaming (despite the shovelware) but the wii u has everything wrong with it. It was rushed, it lacks anything but a slow dripfeed of games, ignoring classic franchises, lacks third party support.

I want the wii u to succeed as well as I'm sure everybody here does, but not in its current form. I want to see major changes to it. It needs a stronger release schedule, to gain back as much third party support as possible, to have a better value, and to bring more innovative games that make you know you're playing a nintendo console.

I've played demos a couple of times in stores and watched plenty of let's plays of most of the 1st party games excluding wwhd and nsmbu. Nothing strikes me as anything groundbreaking yet, although pikmin 3 had a good start to using the gamepad uniquely.

I feel like it's use in Zombie U, Gamer, and 101 was game changing but hey if you want to base you opinion on a few lets play videos and maybe an hour of demo time then so be it.

@faint oh yeah forgot about zombiu I'll agree that ZombiU was pretty cool and especially for being a harder game to develop a use for the gamepad with. I wouldn't call w101 innovative, but it looks fun at least.
What's the difference between playing an hour and playing 10 hours? I've seen games that use it like nintendoland and wwhd, but it's just not groundbreaking. Kinda cool, yes; but groundbreaking no. They need a groundbreaking use of the gamepad. F-Zero and Starfox would be a perfect fit for the gamepad, but so far, no Starfox/F-Zero games.
