Topic: You buying wii u

@Mickeymac Why would you want a console to fail? I cant understand your logic. I don't see why you would prefer a wii version. When if it was on the wii u it would be 100x better.(not really) If you don't want to buy then don't. That way I can take over the nintendo network with less competition. To answer the topic, i'd have try it before I buy it. Honestly you guys might be disappointing when E3 comes around :<.

I'd rather it succeed. Y'know, more third party support, more good games. Either way, I'll end up getting it to enjoy the games I want, not because it is a successful/unsuccessful system. It only seems reasonable.

Say what you will about Nintendo, but they let people play their games when the people want to.

Hmmm. You sure about that? Nintendo is brutal with protecting those anti-consumer bits and pieces it considers to be important.

Yes. Well, probably. I'm probably too trusting of Nintendo; I got the 3DS at launch when there were no titles yet that I was very excited for. Why? Because it was a Nintendo handheld. I'm a fanboy, I grew up on Nintendo... I don't only have Nintendo systems though, but other companies have to earn my interest. Still... money's becoming more and more tight. Chances are I will get the Wii U at launch, especially if Pikmin 3 is a launch title. But I need to wait until E3 until my final answer. Plus, I need to know the price of the thing, along with the launch date. I haven't started saving yet, I'm waiting for that info before I make my decision. Of course, if they don't give me enough warning to save how much they're asking, they might miss me buying it at launch.

Oh, and price does matter too. If it's like $500, sorry, too rich for my blood. (But I doubt it'll be that expensive.)

It's a close-run thing for me, whether to buy a PS Vita now (well, in a couple of weeks) or wait it out for a Wii U. I'm more tempted by the Vita atm though, I have to say

Unless the Wii U somehow fails, I think every gamer that likes Nintendo stuff even a little bit will get it. People are not gonna want to stick with the same systems forever. If you say no now, you'll eventually give in and buy one some time.

There's no way I want to be stuck waiting to play Nintendo first party games that I want (Pikmin 3 comes to mind) so the Wii U is a 100% day one buy for me, regardless of what they show off at E3 and the price of it.
In a matter of fact, about a month of so ago I already put down a $300 preorder, so that's my system at least half paid for.

I don't think so, unless they really bring it with exclusives. I'm really PC gaming it up in here.

My launch Wii's optical drive is starting to die a bit I think. Just got Raymans for it and it seemed to take forever to load the game so that's another reason why I would maybe want to get one. Still works but it's a bit temperamental.

I want to keep playing my Wii games and there's a new console around the corner that'll also play all the new games. It's a no-brainer really especially if I can transfer all my VC and WiiWare stuffs which I don't think will be much of a problem given how they handled the 3DS/DSi stuffs.

Admittedly, my point expressed in my other post it not 100% concrete. However, I still believe that the other game companies and the other two console manufacturers are becoming self-serving rather than trying to appeal to the consumers. When I see things like $10 multiplayer passes on top of $60 yearly online subscriptions and extremely restricted/faulty DRM, I can't entirely believe that companies are trying to appeal to their customers rather than help themselves.

I really want to, but I don't have the money for it. Unless I ask for it for Christmas, but there's a slim chance my parents would get me it then.

Why not? Maybe will wait until at least early next year if the launch is dissappointing (in other words, if it's just another lazy NSMB "sequel" and a bunch of ports).
