I'd say Xenoblade. It's already hard to find, don't let it get any worse.

Xenoblade, IMO the greatest game of the last 17 years (give or take a year or two).

If you're a fan of RPGs, Xenoblade does everything you'd like a western MMO with an eastern flavor to do. I like Monster Hunter, but it it's more of an action game. Character improvement comes from items, items have to be crafted and farmed from enemies who take a bazillion hits to kill. It's a great multiplayer game, but kinda wrong to compare it to an RPG.

Xenoblade ticks so many boxes, looks breathtaking doing it, and is fun to the point of obsession.

Xenoblade, much more limited and it's gigantic. I used around 70-80 hours on my first playthrough. I don't own MH3U though

Sure, you can buy Monster Hunter through the eShop.
It might be cheaper to buy a retail copy unless Capcom has an eShop sale/promotion going on right now though.

Get whichever suits you at the moment, but you might as well amputate both your hands if you like RPGs and never play Xenoblade.

I'm finally close to beating it and I can't recommend Xenoblade enough, so, so good. MH3U is fun also, but with 4 coming at some point, it might make sense to play Xenoblade now and perhaps get MH4 when it becomes available (assuming you also have a 3DS and/or it gets ported to Wii U someday).
