@Operative Yeah, you need to play the game in 1080p if you don't want to sit less than three feet from your TV to read the text. At 1080p I can sit 6-8 feet from my 35" RCA TV and still be able to easily read the text. I pity anyone who plays the game on a SDTV or EDTV.
Only had the chance to play through the prologue so far, but damn it's already impressing. Seems like a good and proper evolution of the first game. Soundtrack is a little hit or miss so far, but mostly hit.
Elma's voice actor is very good.
So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.
Got the game a few hours later than anticipated because the train I wanted to go to town with had a malfunction so I had to go one train later. Thus, it was either get to university in-time or get Paper Jam and Xenoblade first but get the university late. I chose the former so I picked up my games after class was over.
Then, at home, I had the game installed but my WiiU said there was an error with installing my data packs. So I had to delete them, re-download them and then install them. Took 3 and a half hours but I wasn't too upset cause I hadn't planned on playing the game yesterday eitherway.
Anyway, I've spent about three hours with the game thus far. Ran around Mira, beat up everything I saw (even though Elma told me only to beat up those enemies that attack us but what does she know. I'll beat up everything I want and she'll like it). I ended up creating a Goth-PeanutButterGamer, even though that wasn't really what I wanted. I named my avatar Peebles. You know, it's actually quite funny. Whenever Elma asks me something, I wonder how PBG would react to her question. xD
Thus far, I am really enjoying this game. Unlike many reviews said, I REALLY enjoy the soundtrack. Maybe I'm just a sucker for that kind of vocal music or something but it just brings me into the right mood to kill some of these big boars. Also, I might add that it's definitely something unique that the Earth wasn't destroyed by us but by a war that was happening in space close to our planet. But I wonder why exactly that battle had to take place right over our planet. I mean, there should be enough space in ... eh ... space to not have such a conflict more or less directly hit other planets, right? Plus, why did they attack the humans's ship? Shouldn't they pay all attention to the ongoing battle? But I am really just nitpicking thus far. Thus far ...
Sorry if this has already been answered but can the data packs be downloaded at any time - for example, after 10 hours of playing - or must they be downloaded and installed prior to starting the game? Thanks.
@Monkey_Balls: Yes, you can download and install them later. I imagine you wanna play it as soon as you get it, right? BTW, they are very useful, especially when it's about fast travel.
@andreoni79 I got the game a day before release but been too busy to play it. Was just contemplating whether to buy an external hard drive or just start playing now; your prompt reply has saved me a trip into town, thanks.
@Monkey_Balls: Remember that an EHD needs a Y cable to work with a WiiU; Y cables are not so easy to find and they cost as much as a 32GB pendrive (I got a Sandisk Cruzer for € 12).
Finally got to Chapter 4! only two more to go, to get my skell (which i'm excited to explore with ASAP)
