Man, this game could be a big deal but it seems like Nintendo is just letting this one come out without a big media push.
Now this is something that irks me more than sliding boobs.
Nintendo's marketing — particularly in western territories — is one of its biggest faults, in my estimation. It's either not there or it embarrasses everybody when it shows up. Can you imagine the noise other publishers would make about an open-world game of this scale?
Yep no doubt Sony and Microsoft will market the hell out of Horizon and Scalebound. It's weird since I remember nitnendo attributing a major marketing push to the success that Fire Emblem Awakening and Braverly Default had in the western markets. I can only assume that they assume that whoever owns the Wii U will be picking up the game.
Back around the times of FEA and BD, Nintendo didn't really have many great games out for the 3DS (and Wii U) so it was probably a case of making do with what you've got. Now however you have a bunch of popular Wii U titles that can be promoted even further with DLC and as a result the less big retail titles get ignored. Nintendo's winter promotion is pretty much:
Smash Wii U (more DLC in December)
Splatoon (weekly new content until January)
Super Mario Maker (recent update and there'll probably be more soon)
Tri Force Heroes (large free DLC update)
Happy Home Designer (seems to be popular enough)
Yokai Watch (potential attempt to replace Pokemon as most popular game of that type)
So they probably think that Xenoblade X and Ultra Smash will get sales just because of the Wii U drought and amiibo Festival will get huge sales because Isabelle is exclusive to the game bundle.
@Grumblevolcano: Yeah, who knows what they think — they do certainly seem to be focusing on those games, and I will say that (at least in the U.S.) their holiday advertising seems fairly prominent this year, and the family-oriented commercials are decent. As with many of Ninty's moves, it seems dissonant to be so hush on X after cultivating long-term interest with moves like Shulk in Smash and Xenoblade Chronicles 3D. Just this year, marketing made such a huge impact on the success of Splatoon (granted, X is a whole lot less accessible). Maybe we'll see something soon — just now started seeing Amiibo Festival ads, so the ship hasn't sailed yet.
Anyway, that was a ramble. Marketing or no marketing, boobs or no boobs, my hype is strong.
@Tsurii: No, Wind Waker HD is the game on the other side of OoT (with the talking red ship). I'm going to guess it's the digital copy of Hyrule Historia that came with some Wind Waker HD bundles.
^I know what you mean, it looked like some of the ground textures were less muddy in the digital version, but maybe I was just seeing things. Too lazy to bother checking it out now.

@Mahemoth: It's not comparing physical with digital, rather "physical without the data packs installed" compared with "physical with the data packs installed".
Why do this trailer reminds me of Gurren Lagann so much?
Some random dude on Nintendo Life.
Toriel left for a while, so Freaky Fred took over her place!
Not changing this part of the signature until Nintendo announces Super Mario Sunshine 2.

I have honestly never seen anybody use this term and not follow it up with a long-winded hyperbolic rant or some toxic views of women or minorities.
You must get a very select stream of information delivered to you. I see it being used completely legitimately all the time. And often by smart people:
