So it seems like most people are really opposed to the "name changes" that they made.
For example, renaming the dolls to "skells" and calling Tatsu "Tots".
I didn't like skells at first, but I'm already getting used to it.
And Tots is earily similar to the name of my first pet hamster and therefore sounds ridiculously cute to me. And that is very fitting for a Nopon.
Also, the continents all have really cool sounding names.
I can't imagine them changing the names of characters like Elma, Douglas or Lyn though...
Although they did change Lous name to El.. Which I found odd. Isn't El a female name?
I have a strong feeling that if they change Elmas name, the internet will riot. lol
Also, the fact that they're changing the Testament union name kinda makes me worried that they'll be trying to omit any and all biblical references for the sake of staying "safe" and not pissing off any religious fanatics. I really hope that's not the case.
I don't want this game censored in any way.
Guess I kinda see a bit of Mass Effect in this, also see a little of Monster Hunter as well. xD
There are certainly similarities, maybe even some direct influence, but everything we've seen so far has been pretty reminiscent of Takahashi's own work in his Xeno games. The gameplay looks like a refinement of what we saw in Xenoblade Chronicles for Wii, and all of the religious and philosophical themes were front and center in Xenogears and Xenosaga.
So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.
I'd comment on the name changes but that would imply I care. I've never understood why out of the many ways you can screw up localization, fanboys always get butthurt about name changes specifically. They are things that usually don't make any difference to anything, and there's SOOOOOO many worse things that could happen.
That being said, if you've paid any attention to the Japanese news about the game, the name changes were one of the only significant pieces of news it seems.
They probably didn't do themselves any favors showing the map as they did. It looks small from that perspective and that seems to be underselling things.
Just look how much blank space is on that display. That's just bad graphical design...
...Doesn't bother me, considering how massive the map really is.
Obviously, but I'm not talking about you, obviously. People could look at this at a glance and it doesn't look very impressive. I just think there're better methods of presentation.

Am I the only one that assumed that wasn't everything? Seems like a rather odd shape for an open world, to me. And only three main directions to travel in? I dunno. I feel like they may fill in some of that blank space, or pull the old JRPG move of having an entirely separate world to explore, later. And considering how massive this thing already is, that's pretty nuts. (Also, people who decide things at a glance like that, especially with something THAT inconclusive, really need to wise up.)
Call me illogical, I still stand by my June 24 prediction.
I assume you mean June 26th as the 24th is a Wednesday. While I'm not sure it'll be Xenoblade X, I definitely think there will be some kind of split release between Yoshi's Woolly World and another game. Fall release in NA for Yoshi is very awkward!
I am sticking with my November prediction. Devil's Third being in October. Possibly Star Fox in September. Yoshi in August. Mario Maker in June or July. December will either be a new game announced at E3 or Zelda (which I know was delayed but it might still make it this year, just unlikely)
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

No I mean the 24th. They released it in Japan on a Wednesday as well. Maybe that doesn't mean anything for the U.S. release but I still think the 24th for some reason.

Waiting for: BOTW 2, Metroid Prime 4, Xenoblade Chronicles 3
^ Like I said in an earlier post, call me illogical. But still, I just have a feeling. It's most likely wrong, but how great would it be to be able to say that I predicted a Wednesday release if it actually does happen?

While that map is undoubtedley huge in game, I hope there's more to it. Since it seems like there'd only be like 4 environments based on it. But who knows, maybe that's all we'd need. It's gonna be massive regardless
