The Wii graphics do look rather lackluster on an 1080p LCD HD TV. I just got a 39" one (well okay my parents bought it ) to replace the old set in the living room (aka the gaming room/my "second room"). And I had Brawl have the honers of being the first game I'd play on it. While it did look nicer, since, like several of you said, it is an HD ect. screen with a non HD console, it still looked rather sub par. For example, Olimar's forehead appeared like it was cell-shaded.
Ah well, at least I'll be getting a new gaming system worthy of the new television's capabilities sometime soon (I can't freaking wait to see what Pikmin 3 will look like on it).

It's more a case of your new screen highlighting every single detail the Wii outputs. So the game ends up looking pretty average compared to other content you see on that TV.

Exactly what I've been trying to say. Just couldn't word it right.

Are you using component cables for the Wii and going into the Wii settings and changing it to be 480p and widescreen? that made a big difference for me. I can't believe how many people are using composite cables on their Wii with HDTVs...

That, and i can't believe how many people are playing their wii games in 16:9. Looks soft/blurry and dull incomparison to the native and super/crisp & clear 4:3.
I've heard that before and the quality of widescreen and 4:3 look identical on my TV. It may be since I have a DLP instead of LCD.
