Topic: Would you care to see a new Mother/Earthbound game on Wii U? :)

Just asking;) Since I'm playing p*o out of Virtual Console version and having REALLY great time.
Its like manic mansion/day of the tentacle meets dragon quest = perfect game. Do you feel the same
about Eartbound? Would you llike to see new game in series or maybe a remake of mother 1 or 3?

Not really eager for the sequel (it's better to leave the series on high note rather then butcher it, like Ninja Gaiden for example. When you have nothing to add, then it;'s better not to do anything), but remake of 1, 2 and 3 would be great idea.

I would also go with remake of other games in series since I have never played them.

Since there is suppose to be GBA vc for the Wii U they can always put Mother 3 on it, they can even use the English fan dub that people wanted Nintendo to us...they got a game made which can make a pretty penny.

I feel like it'd fit better on 3DS, but a new MOTHER game is always welcome.

Definitley needs a revival, though i'd prefer the 3ds

I never played the original, though I've always had a slight interest in trying it. I'd definitely be interested if they made one for the Wii U. Ness has always been a favorite SSB character of mine.

It's such a terrible series. Why would anyone in their right mind want these game made again? >:[

Yes! A remake or compilation of the trilogy would be awesome, no sequel needed. Bring it to the Wii U!

At least they could make entire new wacky JRPG IP. I'm soooo hungry for true JRPG after beating bravely default. EarthBound is perfect but it's really sad that they don't want to continiue Mother series. 3DS is full of good JRPG's why can't they put some efford and make some new games on Wii U??

I'd love to play Mother and Mother 3, and wouldn't argue with another one.

Nintendo should just translate Mother 3 and publish it as a GBA game on the Virtual Console. BAM, instant Wii U sales.

but at least the fan game of m4 is being worked on, theres very, very high expectations for this game and from what we know (not including what i know )
this is probably the halt on the series as of now. i mean you wanted a sequel, well here it will come. people ignore m4 as of now but when its out, this board will be full of threads.

I'll just take localized versions of Mother 1 and 3 on the VC. I heard that Mother 1 actually got fully translated but then it was cancelled in the west for some reason.

Maybe sooner or later M3 will be released on the Wii U VC, first in Japan, then maybe, just maybe everywhere else like Earthbound.

However, I'm not sure how the localization would work for a U.S. release since it was never "officially" translated.

Mother was translated for the U.S. but was not released since it was already near the end of the NES era, and due to priorities shifting to the SNES at the time.

A fan game just isn't the same as a game supported by the developers and the man himself who wrote the stories. Nonetheless, many kudos for their dedication and continued support in the series.

If Itoi doesn't want to make it, then I don't want it made. Forcing a developer to make a game they don't want to make will just lead to disaster.
