I am a old school gamer. I grew up playing with my dad's com 64, atari, and of course the NES. I honestly just care about games period.

However, I must admit the whole entertainment in one box idea is great. Once netflix was available for Wii, I was hook.... I'm a little pist that hulu is not yet available... anyway here is my question...

Do you think Wii U will take advantage of having mutiple apps like Xbox 360?
Also, you think some of those arcade games from xbox live will port to the Wii U.. I really want to play Bastion....

I'm actually waiting for the Wii U hoping Nintendo can deliver a similar experience for me.

Thoughts? :)

I believe so, as long as the controller can function without the console (at least in different rooms inside my house).

The controller can't operate on it's own. The Wii U acts as a base unit, streaming data to the controller.

yeah that would be awesome!!... basically like a tablet function which is a great idea. I really don't care much for a I pad so this function is definitely an added bonus.

Hm... you know, if you could buy a 3G peripheral for the Wii U Controller, then leave the console on for the entire time while you're away, that could be useful. The 3G peripheral can connect to the Internet, and since you will leave the Wii U running, it will still be connected to the Internet, so you can still do some stuff.

As far as the arcade games go that depends on the developer on what system the game is on.

It's local wireless communications the Wii U controller & the Wii U use to connect w/ each other, not the internet.

But who says it won't work in the backyard or your room, Lord Tendoboy? It should be able to communicate that far. But don't count on it working at the mall or the bus. That's way too far.

If the remote only works in the living room, around the house, or if a 3G adapter can let you take it anywhere.

that's not how 3G works. wii u to system is working on a wireless wavelength like wifi. or bluetooth.

This is a fantasy based on reality.
