@Dezzy Without trimming/scrubbing then all Wii ISOs are the same size (3.7gb I think) but most game images don't actually fill all that 3.7gb with data, so when you rip an ISO from a disc you can trim the unused space from it to save space on your HDD.
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?
@SuperLuigi111 actually nintendo hasn't shut down online multiplayer for it yet. I recall Nintendo ended Splatfest nearly 2 years ago, but as for online multiplayer, its still ongoing.
I should know since I played online multiplayer last night.

@ReaderRagfish With Nintendo you never know when they'll stop supporting anything but I'm playing Mario Kart 8 right now and it still seems to be very popular.
EDIT: I was having fun until I got hit by the blue shell one metre before the goal and then I remembered why I stopped playing.
I had forgotten how bad Nintendo online services are. Out of five races I got disconnected twice. I thought it was my internet and I restarted it but then I found this:
@ReaderRagfish Given how little Nintendo's sharing about the Switch paid online service when the supposed release is only in a few weeks, I don't think it's a good idea to assume Wii U online will even exist in the near future.
@ReaderRagfish I don't know why either but it's not my internet connection and I don't have issues on Xbox One X.
Anyways, I don't know when Nintendo will shut this down but if you are buying a Wii U I assume that it's not for online only but while it lasts it will be free so you get that.
If you get a Wii U, that I recommend, it should be for the games, backwards compatibility, Virtual Console and choice of controllers. It's the "definitive" Nintendo platform.
@ReaderRagfish You won't regret it. Many exclusive gems and some won't be ported. I'm not having any issues to find players (on Mario Kart 8, haven't tried other games today), you get that bonus for free.
Wii U is the definitive Nintendo console for what I said above and also for little extras like free online and the freedom it gives you with save files, apps, browser, controllers, etc.
Twilight Princess HD (best Nintendo game according to me ), The Wind Waker HD, Maiden of Black Water, Yoshi's Woolly World, Super Mario 3D World, New Super Mario Bros. U (objectively the best New Mario game), Pikmin 3, etc.
@ReaderRagfish Nintendo's changed such that I could see them giving short notice on shutting it down. Their approach to the Switch paid online service is an example of their changed behaviour. Not saying they will shut it down but I wouldn't be surprised if they did.
VC is the biggest reason to own a Wii U, there's no chance Switch will get anywhere near that good of a retro catalog. If you want it for specific Wii U games, consider whether a Switch port is likely and what changes if any would be made to get it to work on Switch.
I don’t think Wii u will end it’s online play any time soon.
Come on even the PS3 still supports online play even after the PS4. I still find great players online on the PS3
We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.
@BlueOcean completely agree. All those games are great. Twilight princess hd is great on the Wii u. I played that with a pro controller and gamepad as my item swap and navigation. Great experience. I know it’s on the cube but I really appreciated it on the Wii u as with windwaker hd
Port Xenoblade Chronicles X, Tokyo Mirage Sessions, Pikmin 3 (or just give Pikmin 4), Zelda Twilight Princess + Wind Waker HD, Super Mario Maker, and you pretty much have no reason to own a Wii U.
Not to mention the Switch's portable nature and superior hardware makes it a must own over the Wii U's gimmicky gamepad that you can't completely take on the go like the Switch.
Aside from the Wii U's overwhelming negatives, it does some things better than the Switch:
-Virtual Console - From what we know of the Switch has a pitful selection of retro games, paling in comparison to the Wii U's catalog
-Backwards Compatibility
-Apps - Wii U had more apps early on in its lifecycle (iirc) and we're in over a yera into the Switch's lifecycle and still no internet browser or Netflix
-Emulation
That's pretty much all I can think of
