This is one of the few series that would make me consider getting another console....

Considering the poor sales of all of EAs games on the Wii U, combined with the presumably large difference in power between the Wii U and the other systems coming soon (at least according to Ubisoft and other developers) the chances are pretty much zero.

If you want to get all the top-tier 3rd party games in the next several years, you should probably invest in a PS4 or Xbox One. It's unfortunate, since off-TV play really is fantastic, but what is there to do?

Get a PS4 and Vita, so you can still have off-TV play with those games.

That costs more than twice as much money (memory cards for Vita). Then there's the whole screen size thing. Although the Vita definitely has a nicer screen than the Wii U (those colors pop with the OLED) the screen size on the Wii U means that games are still playable on the thing. I don't know how certain PS4 games would work on the Vita if there's necessary text, or if there are certain button inputs that might not work (like a mandated R3/L3).

They will use touch controls or the like, all non PS eye PS4 games are required to have off-TV Vita play. I imagine text would be readable just like it is on a Vita or 3DS game, not sure why you think that might be a problem. On the price, yes it's more expensive, but you acted like it didn't exist with PS4 and Vita. I don't see why games would be unplayable the Vita as you can play Vita games on a Vita too, the tests of the Vita off-TV play have shown it working pretty well too. There is also the advantage of having a longer distance you can be away from the PS4.

Off tv play is probably a great thing, and standard in the future. I can take it or leave it, and have no pressing desire to have it, however. It's just not the lightning in a bottle fad craze currently, like motion controls were. It will probably be a slow, steady latching on, which is better long run than a momentary fad.

Nah, off tv play is a bonus, but I would get the Wii U Version because of the second screen - having the map at your hands. This is important to me even more than what motion controls offered etc.

This all remains to be seen. What longer distance? How does it stream it? The lag must be insane, the controls must suck (vita and ps4 is not the same controller), the compatibility remains to be seen. It's not even close to what the Wii U Offers with a click of a button - hold - and boom of tv play on the toilet, boom you're back, same controller, takes one second , and no lag. No reason to pretend it's the same experience, not even close.

@DumeDum It seteams through Wi Fi (not sure if it's any Wi Fi, or if they both have to have the same Wi Fi), so far it has shown to not be laggy. Both systems have their benefits and disatavantages the feature. The comparability doesn't remain to be see either, if your game isn't based off the PS Eye, it has to have Vita off-TV play, or it won't be on PS4, it's simply not optional for developers. Another advantage is that there will be a lot more PS4 games with off-TV play than Wii U games that have off-TV play. The controls have yet to show that they stink as well. From what I know it's pretty easy to get off-TV play going with the PS4/Vita too.

Well the next Dragon Age game is only on Xbox One and PS4, so I would assume the next Mass Effect will be too if there is a sequel.

Its also Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.. So.. Yeah, EA doesnt support Wii U - but the game is definetely possible hardware-wise. But you know.. Wii U has to begin to sell..

@Jaz007 whatever it is, it will never be as easy or intuitive as just pressing the minus button and continue to play in another room. You'll have to power up the Vita, go to some screen, and do a bunch of stuff, and it will probably suck.

There is no good reason for your hate for it, it should be a quick process even if it takes a second longer. The advantages it has might make it even better than the Wii U off-TV play for some of us.

I don't see any advantages to it, only disadvantages. I don't see how it could take a second. It seems like it really sux, sorry.

Well, there is the whole thing where you aren't exactly tethered to a room... Sony seems to be going for an approach with remote play where you won't need to be anywhere near the console to play the game in it on your Vita. So you could play on your PS4, leave, and then play that PS4 game on your Vita at work. That's what Sony seems to be going for, anyways. They'd need some crazy good servers for that, but they seem to have been preparing them for a while with their purchase of Gaikai.

I highly doubt it. I don't think ME3 even sold 100K on Wii U.

Biggest advatge is I can remote play from other places. I could be at school and I could with one click start Playing Knack on my Vita.

Unless EA says Frostbite actually runs on Wii U or until they announce at least one game for it, highly unlikely.
