No, but I see I got under your skin TingLz. Would you happen to know the phone number and or email address of Iwata? I'd contact Reggie, but I know he's just a yes man to Iwata anyway.
KryptoKrunch, instead of reading the first post and then jumping to the last page, try reading each post before it. You'll find the answer you're looking for, although as far as I know it's an unsubstantiated answer. I don't feel like arguing with whoever answered that part of my question, however, because hey, you gotta pick your battles.
Sanya, I can't waste your time, only you can do that. Especially on the internet. Go waste your time somewhere else.
Focussing on two apps which Nintendo will have had little say in is kinda pointless. People aren't going to look at the Wii U and decide not to buy it just because they couldn't turn the Gamepad off while watching Netflix. They're free apps developed by other companies, so the onus to fix any issues is on them, not Nintendo.
Besides, the apps are functional as they are, no real need to fix them. Why should Nintendo spend their time on these when they could be putting their time and resources towards improving in other areas, such as the aforementioned third party issue?
Why put their money into any issues at all, Grizzly? Why bother trying to fix the third party issue? Why bother trying to add polish to their system?
These are all excellent questions, and I don't have the answers. Nintendo has a vast treasure chest full of money, and they aren't using it to do a lot of the big and small things that could add up to make a really big difference.
Did you read my comment properly? I said they should be using their resources towards more pressing issues which would help towards attracting more customers rather than fixing things that already work and are highly unlikely to attract more people. Advertising and third party support will get more sales, improving a free app will get relatively less sales. Simple.

I'll take that as a "no" then?

It's not a matter of whether I read your post, but whether you read mine.
Nintendo has a lot of work to do, and I hope to see them get started.

Look Sanya, I already told TingLz. I don't want Reggie's phone or contact information, I need Iwata's personal phone/email. Reggie is just a yes man, he doesn't even make any real decisions.
"Hi, Iwata? Yes. I brought a Wii U and the Netflix app doesn't let me switch profiles. I'm too cheap to get a Chromecast you see and.... hello? hello?..... well just wait until the internet hears about this!"

The Harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. When the going gets tough, the tough gets going.
