My recent quote about time and effort was just a joke ha ha. I know it has nothing to do with the poor Nintendo Network. Like i said before if in the next couple of years Nintendo does not pick up the pace I will most likely Multiplatform and get a PS4 when it has had a price drop and time to make sure theres no major problems with the console ( My reason for not pre-ordering ). If however Nintendo makes some improvements id love to stay on this console and have my multiplayer games, because my love for offline based games can easily be filled by games like Zelda, Pikmin, and Monster Hunter

Sorry, didn't know you were joking good sir. Anyway, outside of playing with people I know I don't really care for online multiplayer.

I was playing lag-free and competitive matches on DS, so I've thought their online has been good enough for a while in terms of just playing with random people.

The Wii U technically has a form of cloud(Spotpass), so the actual playing online part is equal.
The only thing you can't do right now is system wide friend settings and live streaming or whatever.
It's totally possible for Nintendo to still implement these things, and they probably will. If they add the exact same online features on Wii U as their competitors, their console automatically gets $300 worth of more value compared to PS4 and Xbox One in 5 years time.

See and this is what i faintly see in the future. Nintendo will always be king of the local friend gaming style, but if they worked toward a online multiplayer gaming experience with more third party options (possible to happen with better network) and the fact that nintendo can sell their items cheaper than the other consoles then i see a real future for them.

By the way it is nice to hear some positive feedback for once

I really hope Nintendo pushes forward with their free network. PSN had the free online before, but even that is going away.

Same here, mainly my point in this post ha ha

If you look at the PSN it is a good online network, it may of been free for us to use but it still cost Sony over the years. The Xbox was the better online network because thats what your paying for, but what i don't like about 360 online is things like Netflix's being behind a pay wall. There no need to do that apart from greed, i don't mind paying for Sony's online. Because thay are improving the online network, thats what your paying for. And Sony's not putting app's behind pay walls, thay are keeping new & old features for free that you would pay for on Xbox One, and still being cheaper.

If Nintendo stepped up their game with online, it could absolutely be a selling point for the system, like it was with the PS3. However, with the current state of Nintendo's online, absolutely not. I really don't like the idea of paying for online play, but for most people at least, it's preferable to questionable-quality free online.

Just my 2 cents, although to be fair, Nintendo has made some fairly significant improvements recently.

Nintendo does not own the cloud but your right thay are using the cloud, Nintendo has a partnership with The Cloud and BT Openzone.

I have had Black ops 2 on the 360 ever since its release date and played it to death online. I have recently purchased a Wii U and with it Black Ops 2. I have been playing Black Ops every night for the past 10 days for a few hours a night. I can confirm that yes there usually is a few thousand playing most evenings, it's usually between 7-10 and to be honest my connection has 95% of the time been perfect.

My Wii U has rejuvenated my faith in Nintendo. Big thumbs up...

From playing Black ops II on both Xbox and Nintendo, i prefer Nintendo. I haven't had any drop outs at all since playing, compared to Xbox constantly dropping out on me.

Its getting the 3rd party support, but also investing in there own 1st party games to play online. As someone has already said i can only see Mario Kart 8 and Smash Bros having online play. Games need to be invested in as well as the infrastructure if they want to compete.

Being free is a bonus, but not much of one when people dont have faith or see the games to use on it.

Definitely. It is a big advantage offering it free.

I don't really know what you guys are saying about Nintendo's online not being reliable, I played Black Ops II and Tekken Tag Tournament 2 online without remembering the slightest issue. Notably CoD was with my Xbox 360 friend and on the GamePad he quickly felt at home. I also tried Need For Speed Most Wanted U which started out lagging a little but ended up perfectly fine. Yet I have to say that I leave in a town with some of the most crappy Internet of France.

I know one of my friends bought the Wii U for Monster Hunter and played it sick online so, I'm quite sure there is nothing wrong with Nintendo's Internet.

It is good to hear positive feedback still on WiiU online play.

I agree with everyone when they say there is not a huge online selection of Multiplayer games. That in itself is a big weakness for Nintendo and it is their fault really. We could even have 1st party games that had more competitive online play. I like hearing that 7-10 thousand players play black ops 2. Sounds to me like if this carries over to Ghosts then we have a good chance of DLC which would make it even bigger on Wii U. This could also result in more 3rd party games possibly being available if companies see that there IS a dedicated Community in the Nintendo Network
