Just wondering if anyone knows if the virtual console will be coming to the Wii U or if we will always have to boot the console into Wii mode. I know it is not a big issue for most but it would be nice to have everything in one E shop.

A VC on the Wii U is coming, but nobody knows yet if it will start from scratch adding games or if all the current Wii VC games will come to the eShop on day one.

From what I have heard is that Nintendo is working on an Eshop for the Wii U to have VC games. I believe the delay is cause they are trying to figure out how to get VC games to play on the gamepad.

I was wondering if gamecube games will ever be released on the vc? I don't think they will as the gamecube had analogue triggers on the pad where the Wii U has only digital. This doesn't effect some games but will effect others. Suppose they could always make a workaround but will they bother for the sake of an old game.

Well at least it's on the way, somebody made a good point in the comments though and raised the point of having to re purchase all our vc games again. I really hope this isn't the case as I've spent quite a bit on my vc games over the years and I'm sure plenty of others have too. I can't see Nintendo being so heartless though lol.

Yeah that might be another thing they are looking at as well thats causing a delay. It would be nice to have all the VC games in one place but having to switch over to the Wii menu doesnt bother me too much and of course I still have my Wii with all my VC games on it since I didnt want to deal with the transfer.

Yea I'm in the same situation, can't be bothered to transfer everything from my Wii onto my Wii U, its just easier to leave the Wii plugged in 😊
