I'm getting this:
Untitled

It's Nintendo branded, so it should be available in most stores that sell the WiiU system.

I'm surprised Nintendo bothered to even show this off, I would've thought it'd be a given. Either way, I'm getting some sort of screen protector when I pick up my Wii U, The gamepad at my GameStop is already a scratched up mess, I'm taking no chances.

Feel free to add me on the Nintendo Network: ShadJV

Can you link me to this at a online store? I can't find it. I wanna decide pretty soon whether to get this or the Hori ones which are also officially licensed. I'm American btw, can't find it at any American store online.

I got that from an online store in Sweden actually. I'm not too familiar with American online stores, so I don't know where you'll find it.

But since it is Nintendo branded I'm assuming it'll be available in all regions.

I don't see why you would need a screen protector unless you plan on stabbing the screen frantically.

Styluses can leave some pretty nasty minor scratches on capacitive screens. I've noticed that with the Nintendo DS and 3DS consoles. That's why I'm getting it.

I've played 80+ hours of intense Kid Icarus action on my 3DS and there is not a scratch. But whatever floats your boat.

Really?

Well, good for you.

Not true at all, I took really good care of my original DS but after a few years it showed really bad wear and tear from the stylus. I did not "stab" it and I purposely made sure I didn't use it frantically when I did play it. So I made sure I got a screen protector on the 3DS and I'll do the same for Wii U. It's a whole lot less annoying than having hairline scratches allover the screen.

Same here. I've owned every iteration in the DS series, all kept in mint condition, and I've gotten lots of small scratches all over the bottom screen from stylus usage (especially from playing Elite Beat Agents). I've gotten screen protectors for all my touchscreen devices since the DS Lite.

Well worth it.

its not the stylus im worried about as i dont stab it halloween style the screen protector is more of a protection against dust as when i use a cloth or a stylus would come into contact as it moves along with it then proceeds to scratch the screen at least thats what i assume when i wasnt super protective the first time around with the original ds etc etc but i grown extra carefull now

i dont exactly live in a dust free enviroment or have one of those devices that sucks the dust away n so forth

So instead you'll have dust on the protector, and will still have the same issue...

exactly i wipe it off the protecter and the screen itself wont get scratch or messed up thats the whole point i use it for

protecting the screen itself from dust is all that matters for me personally, though unlike the 3ds i probably wont get a clear case thing for the gamepad it self

I'm probably getting that screen protector too.

I never really thought screen protectors were needed on the DS or 3DS but, one system I definitely bought one for? The PS Vita. I was afraid to scratch the front screen; it seems so exposed unlike the 3DS with its clam shell design.

As for the Wii U gamepad is concerned, I'll consider a protective cover like @MrWalkieTalkie showed the Scribblenauts Rooster Hat!

I might get a screen protector for the Wii U. With my experience, it seems pretty solid, so I may not need one...and I hate the things anyway, but I've scratched the hell out of my 3DS, so it might be worth a few dollars to keep the image visible.

I own a PS1, GBA, GBA SP, Wii (GCN), 360, 3DS, PC (Laptop), Wii U, and PS4.

I don't see why it matters if there are scratches on the screen. Does it hamper the gameplay in any way?

i'll go from my dsi experince and say that when you slide on the touchscreen whatever game your playing doing this thing i felt a bump ish feeling *not the word im trying to use at the moment but i'll go with it lol" so it feels like im hitting a rough line scratchy surface along the way

plus i taken measures as for that to never happen again ensuring i get a smooth slipperly ish stylus experince as well as not wear and tearing it, this way i'll never need to send it to nintendo

put a unresponsible young kid into the care of this thing its going to get scratches and messed up in no time
