Topic: WiiU acting weirdly as of late - freezes

So my WiiU has been acting rather weirdly lately - it keeps on freezing at least once a day!
This's been happening with retail disc software (Super Mario Maker - often freezes on initial loading screen), but especially when going in and out of the web browser! This is surprising as I've never experienced any problem with the web browser in 4+ years of using it daily.

I know a certain degree of freezes has to be expected once in a while, but the problem as never been as noticeable as it's been in the last couple of weeks for me.

Has anybody experienced anything out of the ordinary with their WiiUs as of late?!
When was the last update released? Has Nintendo unleashed the BAD AIDS upon the WiiU so we all go out and buy the Switch??

If you haven't installed something new with a glitch corrupting your system, regular sudden freezes can come from overheating. Is there room around the Wii U ventilation to catch enough air? Do you brush off the dust from the ventilation from time to time?

ive had it lock up on me a few times in the last month or 2 as I try to finish up the games I haven't beater yet. so I guess I would say you are not alone. mine seems to be crashing while in games. its not too bad.. but I did loose some time on zombiU..
