I think it can recover, but a lot of people are burying their heads in the sand over the sales figures, and quoting comparable figures for other consoles after 6 months. The difference is, every other console had it's sales retrained by limited supply for the first 6 months, the Wii U just wasn't selling. The Xbox 360 just had it's worth monthly sales ever in the US... 160k. What did the Wii U do in the same month? 40k, and that's just after the launch of two well reviewed exclusives in Lego City and Monster Hunter. It's struggling, and Nintendo need to bring their A game, not just go 'meh it will be fine once we release Mario and Zelda'. The Wii, 360 and PS3 never had such a lack of excitement about them, and that's why Nintendo should be concerned. Thankfully I think they're smart enough to realise this.
It will recover. Smart phone/tablet gaming isn't a threat to ANY of the console, and it wouldn't only be Wii U being threatened anyway. Games will sell the console, and we've known this since day one(while arguing about specs along the way). 3rd parties are dwindling their thumbs to figure out what they are doing. The industry itself is changing overall for EVERY console. Not just Wii U.
Honestly, I haven't had any doubts about Wii U EVER. It literally only takes some patience and some thoughts about the matter to not worry about it.

(Wow Poketune posting a thread like this? What is the world coming to.)
Short and simple. Yes. It could also pull a 3ds (slow start but raking in big afterwards) if Nintendo play their cards right. Some could say that the PS4 and Xbox Something could bury this thing to the ground once they come out, but we don't EXACTLY know what their game plan'll be. In fact it could face a similar situation the WiiU had right at launch. Few games coming-out with not finished launch ports, a price that some could moan and groan at, stuff that was advertised in the console could either not work or partly available.
So um yeah, the chickens can not be counted before they hatch.
Oh, and even if Xbox something/Ps4 were to come out guns-a-blazing, the WiiU wouldn't fade into obscurity like that. (If past events serve,) the WiiU would come out stronger than ever.
It will never recover, the PS4 will do massive damage to the WiiU and Nintendo will go bankrupt within the next month.
I'm totes serious.
im sorry but Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha∞∞∞∞∞∞ Really ur going to say that look when the Ps3 came out what like 7 years ago like the Wii did, EVERYONE was saying Nintendo going to die this and that...and guess what @Phatosaurus Nintendo made it though ANYWAYS Nintendo will never FAIL they been around longer then you and me (100 years)....because if do fail "The World Of Videogames" will fail also...

Four more months until Bayonetta 2.

I'm very offended. I'm crying typing this.
Can I have your Mother's address so I can send her a letter of complaint? I feel you have dealt me a great injustice and this would be the only way to rectify it.
Yes, the Wii U can recover to a certain extent.
But I think some even some of the biggest Nintendo faithful on this forum are starting to see the reality of the situation Nintendo put themselves in. Lowered specs, a lack of marketing, developers mocking the Wii U, and having your brand as well as you product dragged through the mud is not a formula for success. The delays on games isn't helping either. 3 more months for Pikmin 3 and maybe 6 for an actual console selling game on the system is absolutely inexcusable and frustrating.
It makes no sense to put yourself at such a disadvantage and some of those problems arent going to just disappear when 3D Mario shows up.
However, I think what they'll show at E3 will finally get some positive press and enthusiasm behind the console. Hopefully that, the games they have coming this summer through fall, as well as consumers being able to get their hands on the system at BB will get some momentum behind the Wii U. A price drop and ton of games during the holidays will probably help as well.
It's a console that has potential. I think people are just waiting for Nintendo to make the first move.
Did the 3DS recover in the face of the Vita? It sure did. I don't see this any differently. It took months before 1st-party games started coming out that brought it out of the slumps. The Wii U is in need of 1st-party games as well.

Not only did it recover, it wiped the floor with the Vita. I don't think the Vita posed any threat to the 3DS.
As I said in the last ten threads like this, we have to wait until the holiday season to talk about recovery. As usual, users buy into the crap the internet posts these days just to get a few hits.

Sony shot themselves in the foot with the Vita to be honest. Lack of interesting games and a high retail price.
I may get one in time, I like that they're getting indie devs on board for it. I feei many indie games are more suited to a portable console.
Nope. In fact, it failed so bad the entire world economy is doomed. Civilization itself is beginning to crumble around Nintendo. Pack it up, humanity has a good run.
