Arc Rise Fantasia, Pandora's Tower, Xenoblade Chronicles, Last Story, Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn and Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World are all games for the Wii that I'd recommend. I haven't played all of them, but I know they're my type of game, and if you're into JRPGs, then you'll probably like them.

I can safely say Xenoblade Chronicles is my favorite JRPG of all time.

I think people picture the Wii as if you played it as it was seen in a commercial about the console. Most of the time, if not all of the time, you weren't doing anything like that. At worst you were playing something with Motion Plus and gesturing in one direction or another with mostly your wrist. On the other side of it though you were actually pointing with the precision of a mouse when on a traditional controller you'd be aiming for the general area of the target and relying on clever targeting systems to do the work for you.

Unfortunately, I think Skyward Sword is the opposite of what you're talking about. That game had awful controls, and it effectively ruined the game for me. The whole mini game of trying to get the key in the Boss Door was ... absurd. Controlling the beetles was bad. Flying was bad. Sword fighting was bad. It was bad all around. And I was actually enjoying the story and the art direction, but I had to stop playing it because the controllers were, in a word, broken.

On the other hand, I think FPSs on the Wii were THE best way to play FPS, hands down. Red Steel, Metroid Prime 3, CoD:WaW ... those were prime examples of shooters done right.

I forgot about Fragile Dreams. It's another obscure little title, but I heard it's pretty decent. Not in the same realms of awesomeness that is Xenoblade, I'm sure, but I heard pretty good things about it.

Outside of the Wii Sports titles it was probably the most motion control heavy titles so I guess. Maybe. Though personally I don't think its fair to say the controls in Skyward Sword were "broken" though because if you got into it the controls were very, very satisfying. Plus from memory there was nothing in that game I had more trouble with than that whip thing that was tied to the nunchuck in Metroid Prime 3.
