Ask yourself this question: Are they any games on the system you're dying to have?
If no, don't get it. If yes, than go ahead and get it.

I think its worth buying. Hooking it up is super easy although transfering over wii game saves was a little harder than I expected but still worked.

I had mine for over 2 weeks now benefits working in logistics LOL..was cool for the first week slowly building dust. but now the price i was told is being dropped before xmas rush sale in australia due to not being a sell out and to boost sales. i been a nintendo fan but remakes are over rated.

maybe next year we will get more titles but only time will tell mid next year reading about the vita progressing as a full time controller for the ps3 and the new MS tablets. just hope my wii u last a bit longer than my 3ds.

I think it's worth buying. I had mine up and running within a couple of minutes. If you do decide to get one get the premium one rather than the basic one. There is so much more in the premium it's easily worth the extra fifty quid.

love the Wii-U. After a lengthy update, virgin Internet trouble, more game updates and then setting up my Wii-u account. I bloody love it. It was a lot enter than wat I was expecting. Mario is the best game ever, nearly rivals the snes days

Bass, apologies for getting ansy before when you were worrying about your choice, mate.
I'm glad to see that you stuck with your guns and it seems to working for you :)

Barbie it's not just the disk based titles, there's also indie-love in the eShop - I don't have any yet because more than four games will have the missus rolling her eyes at me ;) but if you haven't already check out the reviews. I'm sure there's some like Chasing Aurora which you might like.

The Miiverse is cool, the browser is the quickest I've used on a console and if you can navigate your way around the Wii Shop with it's symbols, the browser is similarly as intuitive for bookmarks and tabs.

If you get a chance to try one out at a friend's house then I highly recommend you do it... then try to wait until 2013 .... ;)

Look, unless you're a die hard Nintendo fan, you might want to wait until march, when some more major games will be released like Monster Hunter. There aren't many games at the moment but boy is the miiverse fun. It's really unlike anything else, people are pretty nice and actually try to help others. I mean look at xbox live for example. It's mainly 12 year old kiddies fighting each other over who's the best at CoD #35 or Generic Manly Marine Game #76. The community is golden and you could easily kill time with it. It's really up to you in the end.

Leave luck to heaven.

Very easy to set up. Only things are updates. Otherwise incredibly easy to hook into your TV and get running for a game or two. In my personal experience updates aren't even as bad as they've been made out.
Wether you should spend money on it... Unless you're a die hard Ninty fan or really want to use the GamePad(which, admittedly is absolutely awesome), not yet, and wait for a price drop.

I don't have one, but from what I've heard is it's easy to set up(plus Ninty provided those vids for easy setup). I've tried a demo at a GameStop, and the GameStop is amazing. Perfect weight, perfect size, amazing touchscreen, and holding it and using it comes natural, as it's set up like a DS or 3DS, or a Wii with Nunchuck being used.

Ok I'm getting mine (Wii U) June 2013 then for sure it's only 28 week's away 7 month's away lol. :D It won't be to long plus by that time another E3 conference in june lol I watch them on tv G4 tv channel. :) That will give me some thing to do over the summer which is great because summer is a little boring for me sometimes.

@Schprocket,

Lol the last time I went to a friends house was when I was 12 lol. Year's ago. Most of my friends are all online now a days. :)

What is the real difference between basic & premium? I just thought it was the two sd cards there were giving with the system's one a 16 gb & the other a 32gb.

If the premium with a 32gb has a bit more to offer than I'll pay the $350 I think that's how much it is gotta look online again I forget lol. :)

I was just going to get the basic in june though for 300 plus a warranty.

Happy Gaming! (^_^)

But I did have a psp years ago & yeah the graphic's are excellent on both the consoles & handhelds but the control's sucked on sony's psp. Sorry.. I'll still buy sony's consoles but never again on there handhelds was really turned off by the psp the controls & game selection was what did it for me as far as being turned off on the psp.

You don't have to be rude. :(

I did do some research but on the same note it never hurt's to have second opinion's.

I didn't make 20 thread's this is the first time I've ever bothered to make a thread at all for this type of topic mainly because the wii u is much more advanced than most video game consoles etc that I've ever owned.

Sorry, meant to say "other next gen consoles," not next gen. Wii U is technically next gen. And I said next Playstation because no one realyy knows what the "PS4" is actually going to be called.

Default memory: Basic has 8GB and Premium has 32GB. Premium exclusively gets Nintendo Network Premium which from what I can gather offers discounts as you buy eShop games. The Premium also comes with a system stand, a GamePad stand, and the Nintendo Land game, but you can buy those sepearately.

Basically, think of it this way: are you planning on getting Nintendo Land? If so, the Deluxe bundle is a better deal, you get Nintendo Land for $10 less and everything else for free. Though if money makes no difference and you really want the white one, the space isn't a huge difference, both are pretty small for the downloads and (if you're downloading any games) you'll need an external hard drive no matter which you get. But if you want Nintendo Land anyways the better deal is the Deluxe model.

That's true. Right now it's cryptically codenamed Project Ad nauseum. But I predict when their new console finally gets here it will officially be called the PS4. (That's an acronym for PlayStation, which is a synonym for deja vu.)

...in my pants.

If you like to have the best graphics build a PC. You can pretty much guarantee that whatever Sony or MS release next year or even the year after will be less capable than a mid-range gaming PC. I'm talking a total build including case of around ~$850AU compared to $299AU for the basic Wii U. Plug a console controller into it, put it into a mini-ITX box that's smaller than an original 360, plug it into your TV, fire up Steam and call it a day.

If you want to pretend that you're experiencing bleeding edge graphics and laugh at Nintendo while PC gamers laugh at you then wait for the PS4/720. You'll get the cross platform games, you won't get the Nintendo games and you'll be enjoying 2010 level PC graphics well into the decade. Only for fans of the PS3/360 exclusives or if their control scheme is magically different while being simultaneously awesome.

If however you want to play Nintendo games buy a Wii U. Slightly better than 360/PS3 visuals which are generally good enough and proper HD. Plus Zelda, Mario, Metroid, Animal Crossing, Mario Kart and Smash Bros. No hope of 4k but the same is true of everything else right now excluding very, very high end multi-GPU configs.

The Wii U deluxe doesn't come with at least one Wiimote + Nunchuck? :( Dang, I don't have any. How much do they usually go for? I'd like to try out multiplayer on day one if I go for it Christmas.

@Skywake there's alsO something called buying more than one console. It's definitely not for everyone but if you do it you cam get the best of both worlds, like Sony exclusives and Nintendo creative hardware/ games. And I don't like gaming pcs because they're very expensive and there is no such thing as first party support or local multiplayer. I love my Wii u but I think there's a chance the other consoles will be stronger, like it or not. And when I said best I should've said better, sorry ;)
