I don't understand all the love for the Wii U UI. It looks basically the same as the Wii one and it hides some functions that could be on it behind the home button and it's very slow, especially the settings menu takes forever to load which I just don't understand.

Saying things like PS4 games look like PS3 is just ignorance. Unless you have absolutely no eye for detail you have to see there is huge improvement.
And not all Wii U games run at 60fps and there are plenty of (first party) PS4 games(especially upcoming) that run 60fps.

Its not about graphical power. Its about how much of game feel there is in the games. I can say from the gameplay footages in PS4 games that I can't find anything fun in them. But for Nintendo games, its the opposite as you can see a special charm in them.

Like I said, PS4 will win this gen and unless Nintendo can make a miracle, we Nintendood's need to face it.

What does that have to do with what I said?

Sorry... I didn't see the "UI.". I thought you were just saying the Wii and Wii U were the same

I ask this as a genuine question.

What games that graphically looks above the PS3/Xbox 360's power are coming to next gen that is 60 FPS? Because I have heard maybe one game fit that description. I could be wrong, and anyone who cares about the best gaming experiences should hope I'm wrong, but I'm worried that I'm not.

Not a lot, but for the sake of comparison you have to remember that here were very few PS360 games that ran at 60 FPS either.

I think the point he was making is that the Wii U has more games running at 60fps than PS4/XB1

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Well the only genre's that need 60 FPS are fighters and racing games.

I mean look at some of games coming soon.

Most games don't need many things that would be better if they had it. I mean, I'm not one to use 60 FPS as the be-all end-all (why would I play Dark Souls on a console otherwise) but when developers are blatantly making excuses for why they're specifically putting graphics over gameplay, it does bother me quite a bit. It bothers me when impressing people is more important than quality (and I feel sorry for everyone who is buying into The Order, it's going to disappoint so hard...)

I guess the massive improvements won't be focused on raw "graphic improvements"...as to speak, comparing frames by frames we won't see a huge difference between current and old gen (at least for the next 2 years).... the improvements are going mostly on fps (many games on ps4 already run on 60 fps, contrary to the ps3...) and numbers of polygons/characters on screen..... a stupid example, it was announced bladestorm 100 years war for ps4.... u'll see a huge amount of soldiers on screen, giving you the feeling of a real massive warfare scenario, much more than what was possible on ps3....

Another path the developers are into now is the IA algorhitms, for example Fifa 15 on ps4/xbox1 will run an improved and more complex IA than the last gen counterparts...

The Wii U will probably stay my favorite console if this awesome Nintendo support continues for several years. I do plan on getting a PS4, though, once a few games are out for it that aren't about Dark Men with Big Guns. Or once Persona 5 releases on it domestically. Either way.

That thought did come to mind. Big Men with Big Guns sounded a bit too overtly sexual, though, so I settled for this.

The Order 1886 is a movie, though. That hardly counts as something that would actually be hard to run at 60FPS. If an on rails multiplayerless QTE, coming to theaters soon game is impressive, than I'm not sure I care. Harry Potter was doing what The Order is doing just as impressively at the time it came out,

It's not that bad, but it's still pretty bad. None of the games are really even pushing much of anything, in terms of gameplay, and slightly graphics. Miyamotot demonstrated what's happening in that Quantum Break video on a GCN demo in like 2000 or something. I'm talking specifically about the vector craziness happening in the GIF.

As I said before, if you want a game in a similar setting, wait for Blood Bourne plz. It'll be twice as creative and 10 times the game.

But how do you push something as abstract as gameplay. I'd much rather see gameplay stay the same and see advancements in story and graphics tbh.

Also last time I checked The Order was being published SCE not don't pictures so its a game.

He said stuff that looks better than next gen I showed it.

Hrm... ok, I'll bite.

I own a Wii U and an Xbox One.

Honest answer for which one I like more? Xbox One for media, Wii U for games. No contest.

Also, why do we care so much about graphics? Yea, I understand that being stuck in Atari3600 graphics would really hinder immersion and storytelling and stuff like that, but the fact of the matter is that we've had pretty darn amazing graphics for about the past decade on ALL consoles. I feel like I've kind of reached my saturation limit when it comes to realism of graphics. Anything beyond this point is just going to be like playing a live-action movie, which honestly, I'm not so sure I want in a game.

The gameplay can change almost by default, based on the better physics and stuff. Wanting gameplay to stay familar is actually perfectly fine. The problem is that it can be refined from the stronger hardware, but it still isn't happening as to great of an extent as I would think should be happening. Super Smash Bros, Mario Kart, Project Cars, Forza 5, are the games I can immediately tell that are pushing the gameplay. This mostly applies to physics and control methods, or both in Mario Kart's case(motion control enhancements, better physics), but it's not as extreme as something like Smash Bros, where it will play completely different and still retain the exact same gameplay in terms of concept.

Compare Forza to games from 6th gen or 7th gen. The entire reason why games have gotten better, is because of gameplay, always. Graphics are part of the entire "vision", too, but I'm not impressed by that alone. Second Son and Killzone could have ran on PS3, for example. The graphics couldn't have, but the game itself could have. The same thing applies to Dead Rising 3, but to less of an extent. The gameplay could have been the same, but there probably would have been less zombies. It really depends.
