Does anyone know a way to turn down the volume on the console? I can't find the settings for this anywhere and, although it's hardly the worst thing in the world, I'd rather not have to crawl under my desk and turn the speakers down every time I turn it on.

Are you playing on a computer monitor? Using a TV you can press the TV button on the gamepad which will allow you to turn down the TVs volume, but that's about it.
I am, yes, I haven't owned a TV for years. I have everything turned up to maximum volume on my TV and the Wii U is still much louder when I switch over!
