All your game saves will be transfered to your Wii U from what I recall(I did it day one). You'll actually be transfering your saves to your Wii if you want to play your Wii discs on Wii.

Soooo, wait, can I just take save data like Zelda and whatnot to the Wii U instead and it'll work then? o.0

It's official, Megumi is now in love with crimsontadpoles and no one else....I mean, she still loves me and she's still one of my top waifus, but-...you know what just shut up.

Was playing me some Metroid Prime Corruption on my 40 inch Wii U installed TV and was expecting my graphics to seem worse than my 32 inch wii installed via composite cables. I was unbelievably surprised how much better the game not only looked but played on the Wii. Noticed the same thing on Twilight Princess. Did not notice this difference with Skyward sword tho.
But the Metroid difference seemed huge.

Don't forget that your new tv might also be giving you a better picture. I had a 46in LCD go bad about 5 months ago and got a replacement. Thankfully it was still under warranty and I got a new model. As soon as I loaded up my Wii games even on the title screen I could see the difference in picture clearity. It made me want to replay all my old games again just to see how good everything looked. I was shocked how much better a new tv 4 years newer actually made my Wii games look. I didn't think they looked that bad before the tv switch but was still amazed at the difference. I'm sure the hdmi is also helping a bit as well.

Yes. Even games like Monster Hunter Tri and Mario Kart Wii will transfer even though both are enabled to the internet.

Just for you.

Just transfer your system. Everything will be carried over except Mario Kart Channel(think you can redownload though), Check mii out, weather, news, netflix, a few others I think, and the internet browser. I just transferred and all my saves were there to still use. I'm not even sure if you can get all those other channels back or not honestly(besides ones that came default with Wii), because I haven't tried redownloading them. You still have to redownload everything though. It took me about 45 minutes to get back all my downloads. I have 15 Wiiware and 21 VC games, and it didn't take that long. The transfer takes about 15 minutes, too...

Just one more reason I want to hook up my Wii U NOW! Only 16 more days!

...I'm talking about without dealing with the transfer program, lol. Brawl, and Tri are system locked and so you need the program to move it to the Wii U. (as well as the VC/WiiWare games)
And like I said, I don't want to move all my data to the Wii U.

Why don't you want to transfer your console?

Oh I see... I just move my console around alot. I gave my brother the Wii, and that's why I transfered the games. Any game save that isn't console locked can be used for the Wii games on Wii U, but if you plan on playing back and forth between consoles, it's gonna be a pain to copy your data to update it.

My Wii U is already scratched to hell, and my gamepad doesn't even have a screen protector.

Doesn't everything stay on the SD card though?

Ya, that's why you have to redownload it online. The channels stay on the card, but they no longer work with your Wii U. You have to download them after transferring your system data.

So many questions were asked before the release of the Wii U about how Wii games would look on the console and if you would see any graphic improvements, I thought Nintendo always said Wii games would "not" look any better at all?

Well, I tried some of my best Wii games on the Wii U this morning and I'm 99% sure they look sharper/clearer and not so blury as they used to on the Wii, the games I tried were Donkey Kong Country Returns, Mario Kart (Online), Punch-Out!!, Super Paper Mario & last but not least Super Mario Galaxy.

I used to have my Wii on the best possible setting and connected via component the best connection you could have on the Wii, but I'm convinced all of the above games look better when played on the Wii U, is it simply because of the HDMI connection on the Wii U or is there more going on in the background that we have not been told about?

Thoughts?

You know, it's the saddest thing. I haven't really bothered with the Wii Mode on my Wii U. I mean, I need to transfer my games and saves eventually...but...I dunno. After seeing the Wii U and all it can do. I suppose it's kinda sad to see the final slope of the Wii...

Eventually I will. Right now I'm enjoying the new stuff.

No. The only way it will stop is if it loses internet connection, but once it reconnects, it will start off where it stopped. Mine disconnected and I thought I was going to have to start over, but it will ask to retry, and it will continue with no loss.

i'm going to transfer my games now, since they look crisper on wii u and load faster.

For the non-online games like Brawl and Mario Kart Wii, I can confirm you can just copy the saves from the Wii over to an SD card and then just access it from your Wii U.

Oh yeah and. What is this about upscaling? I just started the Wii mode and everything looks blurry and dull. Did I miss something? ;_;
