So I had gotten a WiiU, did everything to properly transfer my stuff from my old Wii and it all works fine. But is there a way to cope some stuff over back to my Wii without wiping out the data on my WiiU?
My main console is the WiiU, and I wanted to set up the old Wii in my kids' room for them to play. I just need some of my old saved game files and downloaded games. If any progress is done in these games it would be on my main console, the old Wii wont even be connected to the internet. Theyre still little and I dont want them having all thay access just yet, but I do want them to benefit from my previous hard work.
I am pretty sure that this is not possible. Downloaded games are bound to the console. You can't partially move files or save files over to another console.
Can I transfer my data back over to the Wii the same way I did to the WiiU? My downloaded games were originally downloaded from the old Wii shop ans when i use my WiiU i have to open the separate Wii menu in order to play those games. Even if the games' saved files get completely removed from the WiiU..
If I understand how transfer works, on the Wii you were buying a license to play the game on one Wii console.
Transferring to Wii U meant you transferred that license from that Wii console to the Wii U console.
Unfortunately I think the only way to get the game on the Wii I think would be to buy another license (aka "buy the game again") on the Wii.
Saves MIGHT be transferable, depending on the game. That is what I've read but I don't have much experience with that. Unless that was different than with retail/disc games?
Sweet. The downloaded games can stay... if im lucky that old wii store is still open and i might be able to redownload it to the Wii. I was more concerned about the old save files. Thanks guys!
