I would like to hear you guys thoughts about Wii U. At first I was skeptical, but after reading more about it, it seems pretty cool. What do you guys think?

What are some ways they could use the controller? Like how menus could be on the touchscreen for a Zelda game.
I'm interested to see how the controller screen gets implemented. There are so many things it can be used for, but at the same time if the games are going to be playable on just the touch screen, any of the additional touch screen controls must be optional because you can't really use them while using the screen as your TV.

Let's hope it can support multiple controllers or otherwise you couldn't do split-screen in things like shooter games. Then again, I don't want a controller leaving my wallet in tears.

Multiple controllers would be good. I probably wouldn't buy a second one straight away but I would at some stage. Don't forget that the Wii remotes (and more importantly, Classic Controller Pros) are still compatible with it so at least it's still possible to play local multiplayer without having to spend an extra heap of money on a second Wii U controller.
Well the Wii controller points, so there wouldn't be enough screen.
Split screen on the Wii U could be like split screen on any other console when using the Wii conrollers. But there is also the option that the person with the Wii U controller gets their own screen on their controller and the other player(s) can use the TV. Player with the TV gets the advantage of a bigger screen and player with the Wii U controller gets an even bigger advantage of being able to see what the other player is doing (unless they turn around/leave the room).

That is actually a good idea for a game.

Yeah... I agree that 2+ Wii U Controllers would be optimal, but there are ways of working around it if they decide against it due to cost, system capabilities, etc.
Right now it feels like something I want just because I want to try it out. It's a cool thing. Question is if it's gonna stay cool and fresh for a long time or if it'll be like the Wii where it gets awesome games a little now and then but have big 'dry seasons' in between good games.
I already know I'm getting a WiiU though. Love the concept and playing all of Nintendos series in HD is gonna be amazing for me

I love the idea of the WiiU. Playing HD console games in the palm of your hand or having all the UI on the WiiU controller rather than it taking up screen space on the TV.

Agreed. There's so many interesting possibilities that they can implement with the new controller and I'm pretty excited to see what Nintendo can come up with.

Well they won't really be HD when they are on the controller will they? Since the WiiU Pads screen doesn't support HD?

This is true. But all the impressions that I've seen from E3 suggest that it'll look pretty much exactly the same on the controller despite not being in HD. It'd be stupid if games looked completely different on the TV compared to when you play them on the controller so I'm sure Nintendo is doing what's necessary to make sure the controller screen looks just as good.
