Wii U definitely has games to play. There are still a few releases that I'm really looking forward to, and who knows if Nintendo will announce anything else.

I have had tons of fun with my Wii U but.....

I am dissapointed with complete lack of any hint of truly 3D mario adventure which every console has had at least 1 since N64. Wii had 2 Galaxies.

Lack of a true animal crossing is dissapointing.

Delay/Lack of an original Zelda is dissapointing. Wii and Gamecube had 1.5 Zelda's and N64 had 2.

Lack of Metroid is dissapoiniting. N64 lacked Metroid so not surprising but Gamecube and Wii each had 2.

I was really looking forward to seeing these franchises in HD for the first time when I bought my Wii U.

I'm pretty content. I don't play most of the games I have, anymore, because I completed the story or whatever else I wanted to do, but they were fun when I first played them. I was willing to buy games like Tekken, MHUltimate, etc. games that I probably wouldn't have bought on Xbox or PS, so I had a lot to play. I haven't even gotten around to playing W101 or DKC:TP, so there's always that.

What I mean is that I basically didn't unlock all the swords in MHU or clothes in Tekken, or I haven't beaten the STARS mode in Injustice. Those are basically the only things keeping me from saying I 100%ed those games, and I can only play through a game 2 times, before I leave it and come back after a year, for example, so ya.

I've enjoyed the exclusives for the system greatly such as both of the games from Platinum and Splatoon, but if it were the only console I owned I would be absolutely disgusted by the lack of third party support; and by extension even a small yet noticeable lack of indie games. In fact, I am disgusted anyways. To be fair the eShop is leagues ahead of Wiiware and there has been pretty great support, but more often than not multi-platform games make late appearances or even not at all. That's not to say the eShop isn't bountiful if you're not picky. However, I believe that even for players who leech the games they purchase for everything they're worth often are left with nothing to play because they've gotten everything they wanted out of the games they were interested in and the games they haven't played aren't for them. For the awesome Gamers who enjoy every quality game there is indeed some good variety, but not exactly great. The eShop is also home to some very amateur and lackluster games that get more attention than you'd expect simply because there isn't much competition when it comes to original content. Now, the argument could be made that a slow trickle of quality releases is great for the wallet as well as back logs and that is true. But that doesn't excuse the sorry state of affairs the Wii U has been left in. From the beginning it lacked originality and even Nintendo didn't know what the GamePad could bring to the table other than world maps and inventory systems (great features but far from innovative). That said, however, I am still looking forward to Zelda U and to a lesser extent Star Fox. I am even being so generous as to hold off purchasing a few games such as Assault Android Cactus on Steam to support their eShop releases. All in all it's hard to truly applaud a system that never took off and hardly inspired me, but it's library of simply good gaming content will be treasured. Even if the majority of gamers will never play it.

I've been happy with the Wii U. I got Splatoon, Mario Kart 8, Mario & Sonic at Sochi, and a couple Sonic games; that's all I need to be happy!

There has also been quite a few nice additions, too, like Hyrule Warriors, Smash 4, Super Mario Maker, Rayman Legends, etc. There could've been a Zelda U title a little sooner or an Animal Crossing U, but other than that, the Wii U has done pretty well, in my opinion. Third party support is lacking, yes, but with games like Mario Kart 8, Smash 4, and Splatoon, there's still plenty to play.

I still play Smash Bros. regularly and boot up Black Ops II, occasionally, as well. Then there's Wii Fit U with the altitude and distance challenges that I boot up for. Netflix basically doesn't matter for Xbox One and Wii U as much as PS4, but I still use Wii U's Netflix app, because I currently only have a 2.2 stereo setup.

I still play some of the Wii mode stuff, too, so my Wii U is my main gaming machine for sure. If I had more cash, I'd throw it at Xbox One stuffs, but whatever. The only things I want Wii U to do are:

  • Bluetooth/NFC headset support with BT 4.0 support
  • NFC eShop cards
  • More (interactive) apps
  • More Wii remote and nunchuck support
  • More free to play games that actually matter
  • Cloud/subscription features that might happen from the DeNA partnership
  • Get the Xbox One and PS4 dev engines running more easily so that it's not as hard to support Wii U, because games like Project Cars should have shown up on Wii U, period
  • more account features like VC being cross-play

That's basically all I have to say about Wii U.
