I wonder how many of these people are going to be excited to buy another Xbox (720) next Christmas season.

I know I will be. Call me crazy but a new console is always exciting. Think I'm going to get around to getting a Wii U after the holidays are over. But I have always bought Xbox consoles on launch day.

Always? You mean all 2 times right? Sorry but always should mean a common trend, not twice, like for me I don't always buy Nintendo consoles at launch (only 3 systems)

No, he's right and you're not. Always "every time; on every occasion; without exception". But nice try nonetheless.

See everybody says that Microsoft was the winner, but Nintendo moved a total o 1.25 million units. I am pretty sure overall that puts Nintendo ahead. I think Nintendo has to feel pretty good about that. They sold out the initial run of Wii U. Wii did a lot better than anyone expected, and they still own the handheld console. That's not too bad of a year.

Do you buy an eShop card every time you go to work.

Here's a quote:

"The Wii U sold 425,000 units during its US launch week, Nintendo has revealed. That's just 5000 less than the Wii recorded six years ago."
And why is this shocking?

Wow, great figures I feel. Especially with the current economy situation and with big competition with tablets, smartphones ect.. Good job ninty.

But MS smashed Nintendo as they sold more xbox 360's than both Wii and Wii-U combined.... Just wow.

And why is this shocking?

It is funny so see the same people that years ago said that the Wii was outselling the others not because it was cheaper but because of its games, now are saying just the very opposite when MS outsells Nintendo's flagship. Eventually, it might happen that buying a 360 is a wiser decision just based on the fact that you will have more than 800 games, full third party support, bug free system and more than solid harware with the slim SKU, and also cheaper.

Everyone keeps talking about the consoles like they're in direct competition. That's like saying apples are competing with oranges because they are both fruit

The point is he's bought on launch day both of the two consoles Microsoft has put out so far. Until he doesn't buy an MS console at launch, he's always done it.

The equivalent would have been worrying about 360 sales when it launched because the PS2 sold more in that week (I don't know if it did or not, just an example). One of the consoles is getting price cuts in an effort to clear stock as a last stand or whatever, the other is supply limited and has just launched. They aren't directly comparable.

Because that's the kind of sensationalist crap-talk used when trying to talk up some vapid commentary, such as those "shocking truth - 6-pack abs in 5-minutes/90 yo harlot stays young with baking soda" ads that languish in the side-bar ads of some web-sites.
OP looking for a job with the pommy tabloids, perhaps?

Pommy tabloids? Pretty classy choice of words.
