All signs point to the WiiU having a November release date, if new game listings are to be believed that is. D3 Publisher have announced that their game, Rise of the Guardians, will be released on November 23 for the Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo DS, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, and Wii U. However, this isn't the only game for the Wii U that has a November release date set.
Sega and Ubisoft both have Wii U versions of their games set to release in November as well. Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed and Rayman Legends will both be released in November for the Wii U. Nintendo hasn't confirmed a release date for the console, opting only to say publicly that the console will be out in the fall.
Yet even thought Nintendo's been mum on the date, back in April, the WiiUDaily got an e-mail from a well-known Japanese retailer saying that the console Wii U be out on November 18, 2012 in the U.S. and a week later in Japan. This of course was never confirmed or denied by Nintendo, so we'll just have to wait and hear what they have to say about all of this.
Never understood how a publishers claims of a release date determined the release of a console, but each to his own.
Or, those games are being release for the 360 and PS3 on November, and will released again, for the Wii U later on.
Also, lol at source.

Well, let's consider the facts that EVERYONE knows. First, Nintendo said it would be available in the fall. So that already leads us to believe it will release sometime AFTER September 22nd and sometime BEFORE December 21st. Now we all know that Nintendo and other companies want to be able to sell a ton of stuff over the holidays which starts on Black Friday which, this year, is November 23rd. Beginning sales of the Wii U on Black Friday wouldn't make sense because no one has experienced the system yet to spread via word of mouth whether it is worth the money. So that means we should see it sometime AFTER September 22nd, but BEFORE November 23rd. I'm guessing somewhere in between those nine weeks, we will either already know the Wii U price and release due to Nintendo Direct or we will learn of the price date and release through Nintendo Direct.
Using this logic, the PREDICTED November 18th release date doesn't sound too far off. As this would give Day One Launch Buyers almost a full week to show their friends if the Wii U is worth it before Black Friday.
I'm in agreement with everything the previous poster said, but I believe Nintendo will want a full month of momentum and hype prior to Black Friday. So I'm going to say October 26.
I'm probably thinking sometime in November. If Nintendo has the launch day and price announcement in September. October would be too close, November would give buyers a month and a half to save up cash for accessories, the console and launch titles. It would launch before Black Friday for good business, but maybe not. Seeing as they launched Mario Kart 7 in December. Still putting bets on a November release though since it's a console, not a game.
