Topic: Wii U Projections + Console and Console Bundles Sold Out

First just thought I would add that of this morning all consoles and console bundles are sold out in the united states. TRU still had some bundles left yesterday but as of this morning are sold out.

Also I have a couple of general questions. None of this applies to me just curious of the answers.

1. on release, will nintendo limit units to increase demand like original wii, or will they disperse plenty of units to go around with little demand

2. IYO, what will wii u consoles be selling for on secondary market (ebay) very close to christmas like early december both the basic and deluxe

My personal guesses for peak selling prices (early/mid december) on ebay are about 500 for the basic console and about 1000 for the deluxe (higher or lower depends on demand after release)

3. any other related comments welcome

1. I think they'll be limited to the people who preordered.
2. Ummm...I don't know.

1. I think Nintendo is not going to hold back consoles. Why would they do that? Investors want Nintendo to make up for those losses. Will there be enough supply to meet demand? I don't think so.
2. $700-800
3. I haven't been this excited for a Nintendo console since the SNES!

They do it because it gets attention. New console in time for Christmas but its high demand. Nintendo tell suppliers there is only so many units. Word gets around so people rush out to pre order. Then once all the pre orders are gone it hits the news and people are like O GOD I NEVER PRE ORDERED I NEED A WII U. Then all of a sudden there is a world wide demand. Then Nintendo tell the suppliers there is more consoles available word gets out then ever man and his dog rushes out to get a Wii U.

They did the same with the Nintendo Wii. 6 years ago I was happy with my Xbox 360 and looking forward for the PS3 coming out. I had no interest for the Wii. Then once Wii launch day come it was all over the news the WII is sold out world wide and people where talking about how great the Wii is. Then all of a sudden I was like holy crap I want a Wii and I want one now. Then come December my dad somehow managed to find one in a local Gamestore for RRP. and gave me it for Christmas.

Huh. I always thought a better sales strategy for a large corporation was to make a really great product that gets great reviews and demand is real instead of manipulated.
