Clicky sticks, not tethered to the Wii Remote and what looks like an internal battery with USB charging

Nothing, nothing at all! Besides, of course, the click sticks, the analog-looking triggers, the slot for a charging cord, and the fact that it looks to be completely wireless. So, you're really missing nothing, it's absolutely the exact same as the CCP.

Pleeeease pack this in with the systems Nintendo! Doing so would make more developers willing to make the multiplatform games on Wii U as well, because it'd be so similar to the 360/PS3. I do hope devs make use of the gamepad, but I want as many gaming options as possible.

I don't know if they really need to. The Wii U "GamePad" is obviously going to be bundled with the system and that's effectively the same thing but with a screen. Everyone with a Wii U will have the traditional controller setup even if they don't get the Wii U Pro Controller and a lot of them will still be wanting to play without using the second screen.

I don't get the complaints about comfort with the right stick I've been seeing around the web. I mean logic holds that if your left hand is comfortable in that position, your right hand should be too, since you're doing the same motion. I don't remember, or since, heard any complaints about the left stick being down with the duelshocks.

What I'm wondering is if the controller will come with a charger cable right out of the package. With the 360 you have to buy the rechargeable batteries and cord seperately from the wireless controller soI wonder if it will be the same situation. Also will it have motion controls just in case some multiplayer games require it?

The top position is the more comfortable one because that's where your thumb naturally rests right? So the 360 and Gamecube layout is optimal for games with the left hand on the stick and the right hand on the buttons, the CCP and Dual Shock are optimal for D-Pad and buttons games and the Wii U Pro Controller is optimal for dual stick games. Makes sense yes?

So in terms of Nintendoses this should be the best controller for games that use dual sticks in the same way that the CCP is the best controller for VC games and the Wavebird is the best controller for fighters. Anyone who says otherwise is either blinded by fanboy or is simply so used to the other setup that they can't think of any other way to do it.

I don't know what clicky sticks are, but if it has an internal battery I'd consider that a downside that I can't just swap out AA batteries for freshly charged ones when I need them.

Also if it does have a charger cable will the Wii U have multiple ports to plug them in just in case multiple controlers run out of battery around the same time?

Clicky sticks are analogue sticks with a button underneath. Think of it like the button on the top of a joystick but in reverse.

and I'm pretty surprised that you think AAs are better than having an internal battery. Think of it like how the 3DS works, surely that's better than what happens when the battery is low on the Wii. Battery is low and you grab a cable so you can charge it while you continue to play rather than hunting around the house for some charged AAs. Even if you have some AAs sitting on the table it's still more annoying than simply plugging in a charge cable.

Or... you could just plug it in when you're not playing it? Or leave it plugged in when you are? Tell me, have you ever played a handheld games console within the last decade in the comfort of your own home? Being able to keep it charged without hunting down errant Duracell is generally considered something of an asset.

Also, 'clicky sticks' are sticks which also function as a button - you can press the stick in (it clicks, hence the name), giving developers an extra button without making the gamepad any more cluttered.

It had 6 usb ports last year if I remember right.

I was thinking the same, it being optimal for duel stick focused games like shooters, I still think the babies are going to whine until it's out and we're able to use it.

I'll buy 50 of these, and then complain on the internet about Nintendo not supporting 50 player local play...

And to everyone complaining about this being a complete rip-off of the Xbox controller (which it is), just wait 'til we see Microsoft's 'innovative' touch screen controller and their 'Avatarverse'! Can't wait...

Six seems like a heck of a lot of ports, I would guess the units in question were dev kits, where lots of extra ports (for connecting to multiple dev PCs, wired Wii U Gamepads, storage devices etc) is useful for development. I'd imagine the final console will have 4 USB ports at most; that'd allow for an external HDD, charging up a Wii U gamepad, and two more for miscellaneous add-ons (like keyboards and Balance Board rechargable battery paks)

There were two USB ports under the flap at the front of the console at the last E3 and two at the back and you'd assume that each of these Pro Controllers will come with a charging cable. So two charge cables at once with easy access you'd assume. Should be enough right?

edit: if not you can always get a USB hub or get one of those power point to USB power adapter things that are all over the place these days

@Vintage I'm not so sure the click is just a single output in this case. The stick was shown to be able to still rotate while clicked. I'm seeing multiple inputs for the click.

Nah, the 360 pad (and probably PS3 pad, but I don't have one on hand to check) can click and rotate at the same time. It means you can press it without having to let the stick reset to its central position first - so you can click it whilst on the move, for example.
