Topic: Wii U Owners Playing Wii Games

This is sort of a hybrid thread, so I decided to put it here. Just for curiosity sake — WiiU owners, which Wii games do you find yourself playing the most lately? Or often? I am currently finishing up both Xenoblade and Last Story — I put them both down when WiiU launched. Aside from popping in Skyward Sword for my four year old to play, these are the only Wii games I've played in the thing so far. I'll be grabbing Pandora's Tower soon though.

So what about you guys? Do you find yourself still playing Mario Kart and Smash Bros often while waiting for the release of the new ones? Playing the Wii's massive virtual console library while you wait for more on the WiiU? Playing anything that you didn't get the chance to finish before the WiiU launched? Just wondering!

Pikmin 1+2 on Wii. I keep switching between the Wii and Gamecube versions to switch one I play better on but I can't decide. It'll determine how I play Pikmin 3!

I DID play lots of DDR on my Wii but I just started playing In The Groove on my PC instead (which is much more fun)
I occasionally play Mario Kart Wii, Mario Strikers Charged, still trying to get all gold medals for Rhythm Heaven, but I don't really play Wii that much.
I play Gamecube MUCH more than Wii games. I still actively play Melee, Super Monkey Ball 1 + 2, Double Dash, Viewtiful Joe, Pikmin, Paper Mario, Kirby Air Ride, Metroid, Mario Parties, DK Jungle Beat, Donkey Kongas, Soul Calibur, etc.

I poured a fair amount of time into my library of unfinished Wii games just before the Wii launched. The problem is that there was a reason why I didn't finish these games. I don't think I'll ever get to finishing the final boss in DKCR and despite the hype I can't get into Okami or Other M.

Also there's the fact that something like 80% of the time I'm on the Wii U I'm playing on the GamePad and not the TV. Especially with VC titles. I could play Super Mario Kart on the VC and towards the end of the Wii's life that's what I did probably more than anything else. Now that I can play F-Zero, Super Mario World or Super Metroid without having to turn on the TV I don't really do that anymore.

Ever since Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate came out I haven't touched the Wii games much at all...though last night I did play Kirby Returns to Dreamland for a bit last night, lol

I have bought about 30 Wii games since i got my Wii U. Have not been much time to play them though due to all the Wii U-games (which i prefer due to the Gamepad controller).. But i has played some Skyward Sword and from time to time i also progress some in Sonic Colours and Donkey Kong Country Returns.

That game is one of the best, if not THE best Kirby games ever. I would die for a sequel on WiiU with the same style of graphics (just HD of course)

My son and I have been playing Smash Bros and Mario Kart still on the Wii. Also, I had never gotten around to playing Skyward Sword so I started it although it's been slow going. Finding it hard to be motivated to make much progress with it.

your right there like that guy is sooo hard easily the most ruthless end boss in modern games!!

Just Dance 2 is the only Wii game I've (re)purchased since getting the Wii U. I am having some second thoughts about selling Samurai Warriors 3, however given that Warriors Orochi is quite different, so I might buy that again (though my original copy was a review copy, so I never really bought it in the first place).

I've bought a whole ton of Wii games that I had never played in order to tide myself over. They are Rayman Origins, Goldeneye 007 (played the original, but not the Wii version), Tatsunoko vs Capcom, Last Story, among a handful of others.

I have been playing Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes quite a bit.

i still play SSBB,i'ts the only Wii game I still own(aside from the few ones I bought on thw Wii shop,I don't play them anymore)

I still play Smash Bros. and Mario Kart with my brother at least once a week for hours. I play other Wii games occasionally, but those are always the most pick up and play.

I just bought a Wii for the first time a month ago and am loving it. I regret bagging on it so much in the past. Once I get caught up with all these amazing Wii games like Galaxy and Skyward Sword I'll probably be getting a Wi U.

I play lots of Brawl (Super Smash Bros. Brawl) on my Wii U while I wait for the next 3D Mario, Mario Kart, and Smash 4.

I never owned a Wii - so it is great going back and playing these now new games to me. Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 are amazing as well as a few others I've picked up.

I actually just bought a new Wiimote and Classic Controller Pro. Previously I'd only had a launch wiimote and classic controller. I'm kind of looking forward to pouring over some of my old games with the new stuff. Amazing how much the grips improve the gameplay experience. Currently though, I've got Paper Mario coming up in my lineup. I actually haven't played it yet, only ever did a little on the N64 one.

Kind of excited.

I still have a huge Wii backlog. I'm playing Donkey Kong Country Returns and Harvest Moon Tree of Tranquility.

I played some SSBB on my Wii U after I did the transfer.
