No, you can. It would be a completely invalid and unjustified opinion. But it would be some sort of opinion, I guess.

The Vita's an awesome system, if it has a lot of games you're interested I'd say definitely pick one up. Some of the fanboy bull crap being said in this thread about it couldn't be further from the truth. That said if you're a bigger fan of Nintendo's first party stuff than you are of what the Vita is offering, you almost have to jump on the Wii U bandwagon now if you want to get one in the next two years. It took that long for Wiis to be readily available in stores and I don't think things will be any different this time around.

That's why portable devices are outselling in-home technology in every other category right now (laptop/ iPad rather than desktop, smartphone rather than landline, MP3 player rather than stereo system)

Wii U has more games

It has 22 at launch. This is less than the Vita. Throw in the PSOne Classics and PSP back catalogue and the Wii U isn't even on the same planet.

Not really. You can already do everything the Wii U offers on other devices. If you're talking about game quality... Wii U doesn't have a Disgaea game or Gravity Rush. It has yet another 2D Mario game and a bunch of ports. Innovation.

Wii U has it's own Social Network (Miiverse)

So does the Vita (PSN). And on top of that, the Vita has apps that integrated it with Facebook, 4Square, Twitter, Skype and Flickr, which the Wii U doesn't.

Wii U has way better games than the Vita (e.g) Mass Effect 3, Assassins Creed 3, Nintendo Land, Zombie U, New Super Mario Bros and many more.

The Vita has an exclusive Assassin's Creed game, Sound Shapes (gimme that over Mario any day, at least Sound Shapes is original), Little Big Planet, Gravity Rush, Disgaea 3, the better Ninja Gaiden game (i.e not 3), Zen Pinball, and soon Call of Duty and Killzone.

And many more.

Of course it would have helped if the original posted had told us what games he's into so we could have made a better guess at which software he/ she would have felt is more compelling, but blanket statements that one console's software is superior to another's? Nope.

You can bet that the Wii U and it's games will be far better than the Vita and it's games when released!

Hmm have to get a vita for persona 4 golden, all of the pep Roy's I missed and the hope of persona 5.

Zombiu looks cool and I like the idea of taking a shooter and applying parts ofndark souls to it.

What put me off the game is the fact it looks like a Wii game.

I thought the point of the Wii U was that games didn't need to look like Wii games any more.

Zombie U is like Dead Island but in Buckingham palace.

There's two sure things on that list... NSMBU and Rayman. Mass Effect can be bought on other consoles and frankly I've played Vita games that are better, and this is coming from a big Mass Effect fan. The others are mostly unknown, Mutant Mudds is good, but I enjoyed the Mutant Blobs game on Vita more. The Wonderful 101 looks very good but I'm still in wait and see mode on it just because it's a new franchise. It's going in the right direction though. Nintendo Land is in the same boat as 101 but I'll give Nintendo this, the game does seem much more interesting now than it did in June. Zombi U is the wild card. The game could be great but I also remember thinking the same about Red Steel, then it released and was very mediocre. Hopefully this time it's different, but we'll see.
