I'm starting to save up some money to buy another Nintendo system as I've had em all since I was a little kid. I miss the DS days of Pokemon like Diamond, that game was amazing nintendogs was a blast, but the Wii U looks promising with SSB. Which one should I buy? Is the Wii U better than the Wii cuz the Wii was a let down for me. The whole motion thing was a gimmick that wore off quick and I missed my Gamecube controller and games. Does the Wii U deliver the fun the Gamecube had that the Wii lacked? Or should I just go for a 3DS with Pokemon?
This is just my opinion, but for home consoles, I think the XB1 and PS4 are the superior options, however, if you adore Nintendo titles over all else, and you don't mind missing out on all of the third party titles, go for it. With some exceptions, I was also not a huge fan of the Wii era, but thus far this gen, they have a done a great job software wise.
I do think the 3DS is a great option if your looking for a portable gaming experience that has more depth compared to your average IOS fare. I'm a fan of the systerm, but at this point, I would wait for the new 3DS to be released.

I have a PS4 and I enjoy it but I get tired of Call of Duty and MC & Destiny. I miss the old days when games were actually fun now everything is a rushed fps copy and paste. I'm probably gonna get the Wii U for SSB. When is the new 3DS coming? Im stereoblind so I dont really get the whole 3D thing.

If that's your position, I would say go for it, right now the PS4 is my primary and the Wii U is my alternative for all of the great exclusives and Nintendo charm......as a console on its own, I was disappointed in the lack of software, but as a complimentary choice, it makes the ultimate secondary console.
No timetable yet for a NA release of the new 3DS, but I would guess around March of 2015.

I haven't played on the Gamecube, so I can't compare with that. But compared to the Wii, the Wii U is much much much much better. The aren't even comparable IMO. The Wii U is a dual-screen HD system with surround sound, more versatile default controller and much better network features and games that are more fun. The Gamepad is great, and the games that actually use the 2-screen feature results in some really unique gameplay experiences. The Pro Controller is also a great control, although I mostly use it as a secondary control. Personally, I never liked the Wii as a system that much, although some games were good (such as Mario Galaxy 1/2).
Hard choice. 3DS has alot in its libary already and will get alot more, but Wii U has some nice things too.
3DS has a homebrew channel coming up, and it allows you to play NES, SNES and GBC games (possibly GBA too) if you want those..
I would bet my money that the new 3DS will start receiving GBA (and possible SNES) titles soon on the VC. Japan has not received one official 3DS VC game since May or so of this year......so something is brewing in Kyoto, I very much doubt they let the service go.
Has anyone seen any good Wii U black friday deals? I have a $120 best buy gift card so that would help.
Yup! The Wii U Best Buy deal is unbeatable. It's like $350 for Wii U deluxe, Nintendo Land, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Super Mario 3D World & Super Smash Bros.
It's amazing. But you gotta go on black friday morning with all the other crazy people.
His name is WhackoDaSniper, so I'm pretty sure he can handle a trip to Best Buy

Wii u is only $200 refurbished from nintendo themselves. Comes with everything you would get with a new wii u including Nintendo Land and warranty. I highly recommend this deal, sibce a friend of mine recently got it and was extremely satisfied with the condition and price of the wii u.

3DS no contest. The Wii U is half as old, and has had much less success. As a result the game library is MUCH smaller. The 3DS has 3 and a half years of 1st party games going for it, along with a good number of 3rd party games.
Currently Playing: Steamworld Heist, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Tales of Graces F
I think the Wii U is better, too. I like the 3DS a lot, but I have always preferred console gaming. The New 3DS is coming out, so you can buy this now, then wait for that.

i use my wii u and 3ds about the same. they offer different experiences. the 3ds is good for playing in bursts and obviously on the go. the wii u offers a richer experience and is easier to play with others. i have an xbone to get the games i can't get on wii u. but it's my secondary console.
