There are none within maybe 50 miles of me if I had to guess, but I live in a fairly populated area.

A similar story happened to my me and my wife. We were at our local mall looking for stuff Saturday after Black Friday and I was trying to StreetPass finish that new Kirby puzzle Nintendo sent out 2 weeks ago. We dropped by the GameStop (usually get 2 pink pieces from there) and the door greeter asked if we were looking for anything. On a whim, I thought, they might have the Wii U. He said they did, and we bought their last Deluxe Edition. Turns out they aren't holding out for pre-order customers anymore because when they sell out of their stock, only then will Nintendo send them more. So keep looking if you're still feeling hopeless.... You might get one randomly like we did.

P.S. it's sick.

I think it's safe to say the demand for the Wii U is not the same as the Wii. After the Wii launched, I couldn't find one until the following May.

Let's wait for stats, numbers and oh yeah, facts shall we? ;)

Of course I will read stats and facts when they come out, but this is my opinion that I have come to through my observations both online and off. I guess only positive opinons are allowed regarding the Wii U? Who knows, maybe I'm wrong and the demand is twice as big as it was with the Wii.

Notably, Targets nationwide did get a new shipment of Wii Us Wednesday night just before closing, which explains why so many people saw them there on Black Friday. I don't think wiis were even restocked in the first week.

Thus far, the numbers have shown the Wii U had more preorders. The fact is that Nintendo anticipated a larger demand this time. They're right on track with their expectations this time. It's not that the Wii had a higher demand, it just had a lower supply.
