Topic: Wii U headset recommendations?

So my friend accidentally broke my Turtle Beach headset and I need a new pair. I wasn't really fond of them so I'm looking for a different kind. Anyone have recommendations or own a pair that works great for them?

Price and style really dont matter as much as sound and comfort do to me.

Four more months until Bayonetta 2.

If you only need the mic and sound quality doesn't matter that much, the Rocketfish Wii U headset is cheap. I have the Rocketfish set, because I don't need that good of sound quality out of the speakers.

If you are in Canada you can get this headset(tritton) from BestBuy or Futureshop for $20, works with the ps4 too!

I run the Turtle Beach nla headset and it works perfect. Best Buy has a better set of Turtle Beach for WiiU also.

I know iPhone headphones work pretty good as a mic.

Oh really? I have the Turtle Beach NLA headset and I figured that those N11s were an upgrade (They look a lot more comfy that is). The only thing I use them for is really the mic and voice audio. I'll play Monster Hunter or Call of Duty online with game audio coming out of TV+surround sound and voice out of the headset and I don't have a single problem. I am interested in a better headset though, so post a link to the ones you end up getting.

@SpericalCrusher
I have things hooked up to surround sound and stuff, too, that's why I went cheap and got some Rocketfish ones for $10. They're actually better than the Turtle Beaches, IMO, and they're $30-40 less.

I'm in NA but I'm probably going to head to BB and Target to see what they have. I'll keep an eye out for them.

I still say you're better off getting anything besides the Turtle Beach ones. Maybe the NLa set is better than N11, but I'm not willing to risk it, after buying a supposedly better product.

Listen to me, don't waste your time getting a "gaming" headset. They're just not worth it for the money. Any headphones/earbuds with a mic will do. Now, obviously you're going to want a GOOD pair that's comfortable and of high quality. Look no further than the Bose MIE2 headphones with mic. They're earbuds that rest in the bowl of your ear and curve inward, so they're not the ones that uncomfortably shove in your ear canal. The sound is unbelievably superb (it's Bose- need I say more?) and they're so comfortable you don't even realize you're wearing them. Trust me when I say this is the best option for Wii U owners. You just can't beat using Bose for a gaming headset.

These headphones deliver deep basses, mids and pitch-perfect highs. It's like listening to a symphony play in your ears lol. Seriously, these are quite possibly the best headphones on the planet. I love how they deliver natural, rich bass that even high-dollar headphones can't pick up. And best of all, it's at natural levels- it's not distorting the lows to artificially increase bass, and the clarity of the mid-tones and highs is unrivaled.

From what I can gather. USB headsets are a hit and miss for Wii U. Using a 3.5mm headphone jack is guaranteed to get you voice chat, but USB sets only work on some software.

That's what I've read, anyway. Just plug it in and try it.

I'm using my old Xbox Turtle Beach DX12 headsets. Although you can't use the mic part you can however still use the headset with the digital surround sound device that it came with if your tv has an audio out option like a optical out or an aux out like a headphone port. it works great and i get awesome sound when playing COD or Assassins Creed.
