People aren't going to stop hating/start liking the Wii U if it does sell better than their console of liking.

if anything the opposite would be true.

That was what the video was trying to say, almost between the lines. But that doesn't make it a reason to start liking the system.
People dislike a console because there is a lack of understanding the concept, or a dislike for the concept. The Wii U's concept is somewhat of an enigma, so it leaves many uncomfortable, and would rather hate on it.
Take these rumours about the Xbox 720 for example, people aren't liking it, because no one doesn't understand why it will be always online. Leaving many people for a dislike of the console. That same example can go with motion control hardware as well.
The only thing that can do justice for the console's concept are compelling games.

No. People dislike it because — for them — it offers nothing appealing, no games they care about playing, and/or no games that are not available on other systems that they already own.

It's not they "don't get it". It's that they don't care.

Definitely not the best of ReviewTechUSA, but I get his point. Hes just saying what a few people on here have been saying the whole time, that the Wii U isn't doing any worse than any other console. Unfortunately Nintendo is one of those things that people think hating on makes them sound cool and it can get rather annoying to hear after awhile.

Its sad that something as simple as a game console garners so much hate.

No, I actually think Whirpool is right. People won't stop hating on the machine until it gets their attention by seriously competing with the PS4/XBOX and making headlines. As it is now, most Youtubers, bloggers, and even games journalists don't even mention the Wii U in the same breath as the other consoles. When the Wii U starts making waves and selling better, then and only then will people literally be obliged to mention the thing simply out of pure market saturation and statistics.

Those of us with level heads for the past 6 months have known that the Wii U is actually doing pretty well for itself considering the economic climate of the entire world as well as the declining console market and, heck, any video game market that isn't mobile or Facebook. I predict people are also going to be quite shocked with the lower numbers both the PS4 and new XBOX will be posting when they launch. Sure, they will have a spectacular holiday season and will likely sell out of stock through January, but I think much the same thing is going to happen: sales are going to decline and those $500 price tags are going to deter those of us who aren't hardcore early adopters of new systems. Furthermore, those of us who game on a PC have yet to see any reason that would make the PS4 or new XBOX terribly different from what we have already been doing for about the last year.

Whe did people started confusing hatred for pitty?
I feel sorry for the Wii U, forever in the shadows of the big boy consoles.
They should have called it the "Luigi U".

For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday.

That's pretty much my question to how trolls believe people receive them.

@the_shpydar is sooo correct here. people keep using the word 'hate', but it seems more a reaction that the rest of the world doesn't like what they do, so they must be 'haters'.

i don't have a wii u yet because i cannot justify spending that much $ on a system that doesn't have enough games that i want to play. yet. it probably will eventually. then i will re-evaluate the situation.

Well you know the fanboy mentality: anyone who dislikes Nintendo or talks "trash" about their systems is a hater and is automatically wrong and stupid and dumb (see Michael Pachter for example)

Yes, anybody who doesn't feel the Wii U is worth purchasing must be a "hater".

I thinks it's more of just 'leave it alone and go on a PS3 or Xbox 360 site' if you don't you have anything good to say. Seriously, people were complaining for months about things they don't care about. "Oh, the graphics are worse". Uhhh, no they're not, you would know if you had one, and actually noticed.
"The controller is stupid". looks at dual shock. Are you sure?
"It doesn't support DVD, bluray, other miscellaneous media formats". Looks at 3 other devices that do at least one of those Uhhh, can't your device that does that, do that?
"There isn't any games." Are you serious? Not only are launches usually barren, but we are getting some of the good games that are still current. We will be seeing some ports until next gen is in full swing when all new consoles being on the market.

EDIT: BTW, PS4 is getting ports, too.

Just because the site has nintendo in the name; doesn't mean people are required to put a positive spin on everything nintendo does before commenting, if someone has another point of view other than everything nintendo does is great, then they are just as entitled to put that view across as anybody else, a nintendo site is exactly the place for people express those views as I'm sure contrary to what some might like to believe most of the criticism comes from actual nintedo fans.

I don't see anything wrong with what Nintendo is doing, so I don't need to put a positive outlook about Nintendo JUST TO BE NICE. I genuinely don't see anything negative about this situation.
I don't go on PS or Xbox forums to tell people Sony and Microsoft are 'down and out' every week or so. If I would have though, it would have been in 2006. I like Nintendo most, so I stay on a Nintendo site.

I'm gonna say this one more time... PS4 IS GETTING PORTS TOO.

You don't? Really? Are you saying that Nintendo does no wrong? This whole five month drought isn't anything wrong?

As I mentioned many times earlier, Nintendo doesn't need valiant knights to defend their honor from those who don't understand them. I don't get why fanboys can't accept that some people just hate Nintendo, and they DON'T have to have a good reason to hate them. Also, trolls will be trolls, and if you react to them, you're giving them exactly what they want.

I like this mentality that anyone tired of all this negativity surrounding Nintendo is a fanboy. I have no problem with people who are interested in the Wii U but are disappointed in how its being handled, after all they're just calling it as they see it. The people who should learn to keep their mouth shut are the ones that never had any intention of purchasing one and are just jumping on the bandwagon. These are the people typically referred to as haters.

Thats not counting professionals who are simply doing they're job of course, but in the case of Michael Pachter he does tend to word things rather harshly for someone who knows his comments will end up in the public eye. I'm talking about his image here, it doesn't look very professional when he lets internet lingo slip into his vocabulary or tell people to "bring it on".
