Topic: Wii U GamePad screen dull and not much color.

It seems to me that my GamePad screen has very muted colors and pales in comparison to the richness of color on my TV or even New 3DSXL.

It's clear and works fine, but the colors are just very dull. I really noticed this on Kirby Rainbow Curse where it looked beautiful on my TV and dull on the GamePad.

I ask because I swear the Wii U store demo consoles have a much richer color screen...

Are all GamePad screens dull like this or do I have a dud?

@Dreamliner Yeah, don't worry, it's just the GamePad screen. It isn't a high-end HD screen, and it wasn't high-end in 2012 either. It does its job, but the Switch screen looks a lot better by comparison for example, and I'm sure you TV does as well.

Ya it's just dull and not very bright.

That said, I would recommend cranking brightness up to 5, and turning off the auto brightness setting. It really helps.

@JaxonH Yeah that was probably it. I have an LCOS projector which has very rich color. I played a bit of Kirby Rainbow Curse with just the GamePad and the brightness all the way up and was great.

Ya I've found that as long as you keep brightness maxed out, auto brightness off and power saving off (although you can leave power saving on, it's not much difference either way) it's at least reasonably bright.

Still looks yellow when held in comparison to the insanely bright, vibrant white on my 4KTV, but as long as you're not looking at both in comparison, it looks OK. Couldn't imagine having the brightness any lower though.

@Dreamliner I've always had it on 3 brightness. That's fine for pretty much everything since I look at the TV 95% of the time. For off TV play I'll bump it up from now on.
