I don't see it being that much of a problem. Before they start selling GamePads they'll treat the GamePad like any other "bundled" console component. If it gets damaged you send it in for repair/replacement. I suspect the same is true for AC adapters and such. Odds are you're more likely to have the disk drive break before the GamePad anyway.
