The gamepad I have, one day, stopped charging the battery.

I was away at work and came home a few days later to find out my gamepad will not turn on. I searched online to find possible solutions but none have worked for me. I have removed the battery, placed it on the ground to see if it would spin, even. The battery doesn't appear bloated. I've also left it to charge all night but the strange part is the orange light, dies light up. It does not turn on the gamepad, however. If I leave it to charge long enough, the orange light will stay on, even after I have disconnected it, only for a short period.

The gamepad has not come ok contact with water or sustained any physical damage. I already tried getting it repaired with Nintendo but the costs would come to be 100+. I am aware that the charger I use is generic, but have had no issues with it for a good 3 months.

Should I try getting a genuine battery and charger or am I better off getting a replacement gamepad?

Best advice I can give you is contact Nintendo and set up a repair. That's the only way to go.

Do you still have warranty for it? That'd cut the cost considerably. But this doesn't sound like a battery issue - I think the GamePad can run without the battery pack, as long as it's connected to the charger.
