Wouldn't that have a pretty big impact on framerate? Now the game has to display two images simultaneously on the big screen AND send two images to the gamepad simultaneously as well. I don't know if that's for the best.

Is this 3D requiring glasses, or is it glasses-free? Either way, I find this odd.
It requres glasses, at least based off of the source.
Also, since the thing is a touch screen, scratches are going to accumulate on the device over time, which will disrupt the 3D effect.

I guess that just depends on how well you take care of it.
I still can't see a single scratch on any of my DS/3DS systems despite all the time I've spent playing them, so hopefully keeping the GamePad screen scratch-free will be easy too.

Well, you'll be able to play the game on the gamepad itself, using the buttons and analog joysticks mostly. In the case of Assassin's Creed III, you'll only need to use the touch screen to switch weapons. So unless you have insanely long nails, you'll be fine.
I'm very suspicious of this. I don't see the reason why the Wii U gamepad needs a 3D screen. This wouldn't be a feature that Nintendo endorses. How credible is this site?
This looks fake to me, i'm calling BS because I haven't heard any such rumours prior to this and you'd think Nintendo would've put an actual 3D stereoscopic screen with a slider instead of having to use 3D glasses? Also I believe nintendo said that they weren't necessairly interested in implementing 3D tech, whether in fact it's possible or not, in any further handhelds or consoles after the 3DS handhelds.

They did mention it was possible earlier, so why not let the developers try it?
There's no point in cramming in a stereoscopic screen when you'll have to wear a glass for your 3DTV anyways. I think it's cool the option's there though.

You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!
Sounds fake info. I have 3D glasses and they need to be synched with the screen. It may have 3D on the TV, but the gamepad does not send infrared synch signal for 3D glasses.

@FOREST_RANGER Very credible. They're the leading video game journalistic site in Canada. Besides, this shouldn't be surprising; Nintendo is known to keep many secrets when it comes to their products.
