Can you play all the virtual console titles using the game pad? Or do you need the game pad? Thanks in advance to you guys in USA as this will help me decide what bundle to buy

No you cannot, yet anyway.

You can't play Wii Virtual Console games on the GamePad.

The WiiU doesn't have a Virtual Console service of its own at this time. It'll get one later. And those will hopefully be playable on the GamePad.

Yeah, you have to go into Wii Mode though

Yes, you can download them. On the menu, there is an icon to switch to "Wii Mode". It essentially boots up an emulator of the Wii. Using the Wii Shop channel there, you can purchase and download Wii VC games. Note that Wii Mode does not support the gamepad, so you must use a Wii remote to download VC games, and you need a classic controller to play most of them.

So these can only be played via a wii remote with a classic controller plugged in?

Wii Mode does not support any Wii U controllers such as the Pro Controller, so no. You do need a classic controller for nearly all the games. Of course, Nintendo is likely to change this with a firmware update in the future, but don't expect it anytime soon.

that might be just you but i took the gamepad out of my bedroom into the living room nothing happen there.

Yeah, my den is angled away from the rest of the house, and the Wii U is kind of behind a wall.

Nintendo sometimes is very arcaic. They could put an unified store and play anything in the principal menu in the system (like the 3DS).
