I agree with waveboy. I was fine with the way that the wii was completeley lacking in these sorts of games and wish it was staying that way with the wii U. Masahiro Sakurai said that they won't be starting development of SSB4 until Kid icarus: uprising is finished and that they haven't even started thinking about the characters yet so it sounds like the just announced the new smash bros. to please the nintendo fans who weren't pleased with the uninspiring third-party line-up. I like owning a console like the wii that isn't filled with these sorts of games but it looks like that will change unfortunatley with the wii U.
you don't really have a problem, you just have an opinion.
on that matter, 3 awesome facts: 1. the more games the better. 2. the more 3rd party support the better. the change won't take away anything but adds so much. 3. no one threatens you to buy games you don't want.
On the one hand, these are the kind of games I like nowadays. On the other hand, I'll probably just get them for the Xbox since it just doesn't seem right on a Nintendo console. I hope we get more unique and interesting exclusive games once things get going.
.........you people seriously want Nintendo to keep shutting itself in and giving the shaft to third-party support? Just because you personally don't like it?
Seriously???
Nintendo will always be there to make the games you want to play. No one is forcing you to play the games you don't want. The thing is that a lot of people do want these games, and Nintendo wants to reach out to them.
please keep the fury and insults to yourself — TBD
Wait, Tekken is an exclusive, right? Well there's one game I'm interested in. Depending on how each game uses the screen, I may end up getting the Wii U version, though I can only see Ghost Recon and Aliens making a difference (and I hate Ghost Recon). Then there's Battlefield 3 which is supposed to play like the PC version on high-end settings. I may just get that version because it's pretty (the trailer was beautiful)!
I agree with Apparatusmini, just without the insults, nintendo needs better third party games, and this is how they are going to get them. The only games I own for my wii are first party nintendo titles, and I have beaten them, so now my wii is a dust collector, Since the Wii U is going to get better third party titles that I like to play and are usually well made, I see the Wii U as having more and more potential to be the best console to play video games on. Especially since Nintendo has the mastermind miyamoto on their side, Nintendo is going to be unstoppable.
@Apparatusmini So just because I don't like these third-party games means I don't like any third-party games? No, it means I'd rather the sort of third-party games there were already on the wii like the No more heroes series, Little king's story, resident evil games, Zack and wiki etc. I know I don't have to buy those games but they don't seem like the sort of games that should be on a nintendo console.
And I cannot wait until Batman Arkham city!! I loved arkham Asylum! I own it for the Ps3, but now it's looking like I'm going to get this one for the Wii U!
they don't seem like the sort of games that should be on a nintendo console.
this is the kind of thinking Nintendo is desperate to change at the moment. as long as they keep pumping out the first-party titles i crave as well as pushing these 3rd party titles, more power to 'em, i say :3

Yikes, totaly unappealing list of games aside frm Super Smash Bros 4. It's great that the Wii U is getting more diverse since the Wii was pretty lackluser regarding these types of games which i was perfectly fine with, but that 3rd party 'thez' HardcoreZzZ!!!" trailer is practically everything I hate about gaming, it's the type of stuff I don't wan't to play..
You know what? Who cares if you want to play them? They're popular, and the more diversity the Super Wii gets the better. I've been lucky enough to afford two consoles this generation, but plenty of Wii-only owners have gotten the shaft on great third party games that only hit the more powerful consoles.
I should add that I'm not singling Waveboy out with this but rather everyone that takes that makes a derogatory comment about better third party support.

I wouldn't say that more games are better. That's what caused the video game crash in the 80s.
On topic, I'm actually pretty excited about the Wii U. But what dampers my excitement is that I remember I had the exact same feeling when the Wii was announced and I'm worried that it won't work out. I was so pumped for Wii Sports when it came out, then I realized that it got boring after 5 minutes. Now I'm pumped for the Wii U's new capabilities, but I'm being cautious.

So am I. I too have a dilemma, though. Third party games are awesome (way better than Nintendo games), but I also love the casual gaming crowd. Should I pick up Kinect instead of Wii U? Is Kinect casual enough? Maybe. I need to know!
i wanted 2 buy batman n dirt w a ps3 but decided against it...then they got hacked....wii u is gonna be fun...ea sports golf n ...1080p...cool controller. nice mario graphics, etc.
I just approve of the lack of real is brown. (even though some of it is "real is always nighttime") Can't decide if it's because NINTENDO or just a sign of developers remembering what primary colors are.
