The new Smash Bros. is probably gonna be like 35GB.

Honestly I don't think the game will be even close to that size. The only way it could get that big is if the game had a bunch of uncompressed audio/cutscenes, but that would be a very bad idea for multiple reasons. I think it'll probably be in around the 10-15 GB range, but only time will tell.

Ya, I was thinking about it after...
I do think it will be at least 15GB, though. POSSIBLY above 20GB, but probably not. Brawl took up alot of memory on the Wii disc. It was dual layered, and I thought 10GB was the max per layer(with the second not always reaching 10GB after the first).

Oh well.

Looking at Nintendo's current games, they're all about 3GB. Mario 3D Land will probably only be 3-4 GB. It's probably because their games aren't visually demanding in the first place, even though they could be.

The Wii used modified DVDs so the max size was ~10GB but that was with a dual layered disk. A single layer disk was only 4.7GB. So Brawl was above 5GB and probably closer to 10GB being the first game that used the dual-layered disk.

As for Smash Bros on the Wii U... the Wii U runs its games at 1080p and so you should expect about 4x the amount of storage for cutscenes, textures and so on. There's also the fact that there are already games on the Wii U, Lego City Undercover for starters, that are up around 20GB. Smash Bros being less than 15GB? Definitely not. The likely size is probably bellow 25GB given that's the size of a single layered Wii U disk.

Hmm not sure how much I agree with that - is USB still that way thought that was an old issue

Not a USB issue , its a Flash memory issues. SSD hard drives have multiple ways to lessen the issue but flash drive are cheap and small and really arnt meant for constant use.

For sure. Ya, I wasn't sure about DVD memory limits.
I was taking HD files, more content, etc. more memory into consideration when I made that guess like you said.
I was basically comparing Brawl to the new one to try and guess how much memory it would be.
I read somewhere that Brawl was 8GB.

EDIT: I already brought up Lego City, BTW. I was trying to guesstimate how many Smash Bros arenas and such could probably fit into the same ammount in-game space(the overworld) that Lego City occupies, as well.
