Nintendo is holding a major Wii U press event in New York City on September 13, hosted by Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime. An invitation sent to select media outlets today promised a day that will let us learn "more about how the Wii U will change the future of gaming and entertainment."

Going a day after apple isn't smart. Also this is right before the usual togs event.

It might be smart. It might not. They better bring their A-game in that case though.

Finally a date for the September event.

Any news on if it'll be streamed? Being press only would suck big time.. Anyway, can't wait. I hope they show of everything, I'm dying to hear what people think about the online system, the social features, how easy it is to contact/ad other players as friends, what applications will be available on the system etc etc.

Not to mention a launch date and price-point.

I really hope they'll announce that Nintendo Land is packaged with the system!

Hoping for Westfield demos here like with the original 3DS launch. (They had Kid Icarus, Resident Evil, Steel Diver, Nintendogs, both AR Games and various trailers and anyone could play them.) They had a party for Zelda last year and they let people have a go at the Wii U. I didn't get to go but because of that my hopes are pretty high.

well i know im going to get it if it comes in black or red, i heard a rumour date of october 25th it sounds somewhat reasonable in a small way but only one way to know for sure and its coming soon

Alao, I want some actual details/screenshots of their online store, including possible new systems represented on Wii U VC. In 2006, best I remember, we had a lot more information at a comparable point before Wii's release.
