Topic: Wii U Europe power supply in Taiwan

Hi all,

I'm living in Taiwan, but finally decided to buy a Wii U and enjoy some great titles I've been missing out on so far.
Because of the region lock and not having the time to learn Japanese, my parents are going to bring me the Wii U I ordered in Germany on Tuesday next week.

I've been questioning google about whether I'm able to use the german power supply (220V) with a simple plug converter without any risks here in Taiwan (110V), but haven't come to any definite conclusion if it really is safe to do so. I was hoping that there is someone on this forum who can tell me about their experiences with the issue (I've read the thread about using the US Wii U on 220V but not the other way around).

Thanks!

I'm guessing it could work, but I'm not a expert at this. Maybe you can ask your local game store about this?

I already sent out a message to nintendo Germany, but I guess they will just tell me that the power supply is 220-240V only since this is what it officially supports... Local game store is a good thought. Thanks!

I was hoping for someone here who already tried it themselves. Anyone?

Thanks for the link, but it's again about US Wii U in Europe.. I want to make sure that the other way around also works for sure.

Thanks for the input. I've plugged the Wii U in yesterday and everything works fine! So I've already been playing Slpatoon and Mario Kart for a couple of ours and am really enjoying it so far.
