Seeing as Nintendolife usually has a more DD slate was suprised not to find a thread about this already. Here is a thread we can talk about the upcoming Wii U eshop games and what we hope its like and want in it.

Some info on what we know about the eshop itself

From Bill Trinen

We have an eShop team internally that handles 3DS and they'll be working on the Wii U eShop. That's transitioned from, I think, initially, the team that was handling the Virtual Console releases. So they've got a much broader perspective now on the overall digital offering. That's focused primarily, going forward, on 3DS and Wii U. For Virtual Console itself, obviously there's been... We had a lot of focus on that early on for Wii, and also at the same time we were trying to grow the original digital content for Wii. Particularly, when you look at how the digital offerings have evolved from Wii to 3DS... 3DS, I look at the stuff that's coming out digitally, whether it's Pushmo — I love that game, it's so good — and Sakura Samurai, there's a lot of really creative and unique content coming out. I think there's certainly a focus on... Let's really try to help these independent developers that are creating new and unique content. That may be why there's more focus in that area.

Also we have some screenshots of what the eshop and Wii U menu will look like.

@Sony_70 you should take over the eshop duties for NL and perhaps earn a nice little shield for your avatar

I will definitely download Trine2 being a man that loves multiplaying through fantastical worlds full of arcane magiks and beastly foes on a mythological quest of epic proportions

I'm hoping EA is in the game with a crapload of Megadrive/Genesis VC this would take me back in time to a place that filled my gaming heart n soul with alot of great memories... Just do it EA

Hang on, the Wii U eShop is only getting a port of Marvel Pinball, not Zen Pinball 2?

This is a problem that no one seems to have picked up on. The reason Marvel Pinball exists on the 3DS is because it is too cumbersome for developers to do what Zen Studios does on the PS3/ Vita - free download of the game, but all the tables are demo-only unless you buy them as DLC.

So Nintendo's DLC policies/ freemium software policies might just still be lagging behind what the developer industry wants, and if so Wii U eShop, like WiiWare, DSiWare and 3DS eShop might struggle to get the quantity numbers up to where they need to be.

Pullblox sequel would fit nicely on the Wii U!

I'm interested in Cloudberry Kingdom (looks like a lot of fun and has multiplayer), Trine 2: Director's Cut (multiplayer and game by Finnish game-developer), Toki Tori 2 (my type of game) and Nano Assault Neo (looks like great fun). They already have good games coming to Wii U's eShop as opposed to what WiiWare has to offer. I have only 3 WiiWare games on my Wii: Bomberman, Pokémon Rumble and Cave Story. There are few I might still get but there are many better games I haven't bought yet so they have to wait. Can't wait to get my hands on Wii U.

It's its, not it's.

Couldn't agree more!
Well I don't care what platform it's on: I just want another Pullblox goddammit!

Currently playing: Rhythm Heaven, Minecraft (XBLA), Pokemon B/W 2, Halo 4, The Denpa Men: They Came By Wave, Fallblox, Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door (GCN)

Will be playing soon: Paper Mario: Sticker Star, Cave Story +, Wii U: NSMBU, Nintendo Land, (And lots more!)

I wonder if we can get some new Art Style games. Those saved the WiiWare for me.

I've actually been wondering about that recently. Nintendo has not released any Art Style games for the eshop, and I hope they will in the future and on the Wii U eshop, because I am currently loving Art Style: Pictpicts (or however you spell it) and am considering Art Style: Boxlife as well...

We could see some art style games in the future. All of the dsiware games were ports while the wiiware games were new titles correct?

What a healthy selection. Already looks better than the Playstation Network (for the most part).

Just for you.

Probably going to double dip on Mighty Switch Force HD/Mutant Mudds Delxue.

I'm willing to bet shante is being worked on for the Wii U. Bozon said they would have more wii U/3ds news to announce this year when mighty switch force was announced. With Double Dragon : Neon ( hope to get a port but I might just grab the xbla version) and Adventire Time finished they must be working on their next project. Guessing they will annouce the next shante game when the gbc game gets put on the virtual console.

I'll definitely be getting some Wii U eShop games, but not immediately. I've still got a few Wii games to beat and a limited budget to spend on games. Can't wait for Mighty Switch Force, though.

I own a PS1, GBA, GBA SP, Wii (GCN), 360, 3DS, PC (Laptop), Wii U, and PS4.
I used to own a GBC, PS2, and DS Lite

I'm on YouTube.

I promise to not derail threads. Request from theblackdragon

Or they could have just thrown it together to have a Wii U eShop launch game.
I also agree on my Art Style games. I'd love to see some Wii U and 3DS entries. It's a fantastic series.

So the nintendo okie podcast had jools Watsham from Renegade kid where he talked about a few things regarding the Wii U.
-Renegade Kid’s focus is not on the PC market
Mutant Mudds Deluxe Announcement 1:50:00 – 1:56:00

  • Will probably stay unique to the Wii U
A lot of work went into the visuals to make it look good on Wii U
  • Extra artwork added to the Wii U levels
Game will be playable on either the TV or Wii U GamePad. Nothing utilizing both screens now.
  • Big Wii U title in the works for Holiday 2013
