I loved their E3s too, ah well. Everyone has been complaining that they're shows have been sucking lately anyways. Also, the Directs have been more exciting than those recent showings too. :3

Keep it PG-13-ish.
And like many others here, I'm agreeing they will show something of Smash Bros 4, but I highly doubt it will be much. E3 of 2014 will probably actually have the SSB4 stuff.
I know Retro has been developing a new Metroid game for at least 2 years. There hasn't been an official announcement but it's the worst kept secret at Nintendo given employees twitter feeds. An ex-uncharted environmental designer quit Naughty Dog to work for Retro, and about the game they're currently working on he said something along the lines of it being "his crowning achievement". Miyamoto then said explicitly that it's not a Zelda game. Given the type of game a highly detailed 3D environment would imply, these two statements can only add up to one thing; a Metroid game.
As for Smash Bros, there was a public announcement some time ago that it would be playable at E3.
It's still going to be more about the Wii U as a game console & how it's going to change the way you watch your TV. Nintendo failed time & time again to explain what the Wii U is all about. There's still lots of people who doesn't know about the Wii U & Nintendo still have a lot of explaining to do on E3. On the software side I think they're going to bring NFC to the table particularly on the new Pokemon Rumble game. Metroid, Smash Bros, Zelda, Mario 3D, etc. will be on the agenda. As a footnote, they'll probably talk about the use of dual Gamepad on the game. It doesn't look like they're going to bring new hardware add-ons to the table but if they do it's likely be a proprietary Bluetooth headset.

Close, but not quite accurate. Iwata said there will be screenshots, then later Sakurai said to expect more then that, more then likely pertaining to a trailer. But nothing along the lines of a playable demo I'd imagine, the games have been in development for only about a year after all.

You can infer a Metroid game just from that?

The Wiiu was a decoy and Nintendo will launch a next next generation system that makes the PS4 and Xbox 720 pale in comparison. I am really hoping just a solid line up of first party titles to be released this year. Also better third party support which don't include lame ports.
